Whitney Houston’s public memorial in New Jersey has been canceled Whitney Houston’s public memorial that was going to be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey has reportedly been canceled in order to accommodate her family’s wishes.

Mayor Cory Booker has reportedly announced that there will be no public ceremony for the singer as her family allegedly wanted to keep things small and private, states TMZ. “In compliance with the family’s wishes the city is not moving forward with any public ceremony,” a rep for the mayor reportedly commented.

Houston’s funeral will reportedly take place on Saturday.
