Vanessa Minnillo on why she took Nick Lachey’s last name When Vanessa Minnillo married Nick Lachey, she decided to take his last name which isn’t exactly common in Hollywood relationships.

Minnillo recently explained that it was all her decision to change her last name to match that of her husband, although it didn’t hurt that it made him happy as well, states People. “He said, ‘Whatever you want, I understand.’ And I said, ‘But would it mean a lot to you if I took it? Because I’m old fashioned and I want to.’ And he said, ‘What guy wouldn’t want their girl to take their name fully?’ [But] He didn’t push me, no, no, no,” Minnillo commented.

Now, she has gone through most of the legal requirements to officially change her last name which has her feeling very much like Mrs. Lachey.

What do you think about her changing her last name?

If Vanessa’s surname now is Lachey, why is Minnillo used in the title of the article and through out the article? According to Vanessa (twitter) she is now officially by SS and DL Vanessa Lachey.
