Penultimate Oscar predictions

The Academy Awards are in just over a week, ladies and gentlemen. My how time flies, right? With the show coming so soon, there can be a rush to finalize predictions and try to hold course until the end. That’s not my way though, as I play around with my picks right until just before the big night. This second to last update is sort of a fail-safe, giving me a chance to still potentially go out on a limb or two before getting down to business. The Oscars will unfold in less than ten days, so if you’re not excited yet, now is the time to start getting excited. This is what we spend all this time preparing for, after all…

Below are the penultimate picks for the upcoming ceremony. Next week will be the big one, where I’ll finally come to grips with this whole thing, but I’m still tinkering today. Right now, it seems like La La Land is going to dominate, with the only question mark being if it can in fact tie the all time wins record. My gut right now says no, but this weekend’s Writers Guild of America awards could be a hint. If it manages to wind up the favorite in Best Original Screenplay, that will be a certain show of force. For now, we’ll just have to sit tight and see how it all ends up unfolding.

Here now is my second to last crack at Oscar predictions.
