“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” presents a jam packed First Trailer

A really nice surprise a few years ago was just how much of a blast the comic book spy flick Kingsman: The Secret Service was. Now, we have a sequel on our hands in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, with a First Trailer dropping this week to tease out what’s in store for us. It’s a fun looking Trailer that you’ll be able to see at the end of this piece. As always, however, there’s some discussion to be had before we get there. Good things to those who wait, right? Exactly. As such, let’s talk a bit about this blockbuster sequel and what it might have to offer this fall.

The film is a follow up to Kingsman: The Secret Service. Taking place a period of time after that outing, the Kingsman have to save the day again, this time led by Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin (Taron Edgerton). When their secret headquarters is blown up and the world is under attack/in a hostage situation, Eggsy and the remaining Kingsman head across the pond to work with an allied spy organization in the United States, the Statesman. These two elite secret organizations, previously completely separate, must band together to defeat a common enemy. Eggsy and Merlin (Mark Strong) have new allies in Agent Champagne (Jeff Bridges) and Agent Tequila (Channing Tatum), but what of Harry (Colin Firth), presumed murdered last time? Matthew Vaughn directs and co-writes with collaborator Jane Goldman. Also in the cast are Halle Berry, Elton John, Vinny Jones, Julianne Moore, Pedro Pascal, and many more. Henry Jackman handles the score with Matthew Margeson, while George Richmond is behind the camera for the cinematography.

From the looks of the Trailer, fans of the first one should be just as satisfied this time around. In fact, it seems like there will be even more action and memorable characters, which should be a plus. That one came out of the blue, while this one won’t have that advantage. If Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a success, it will be because it managed to up the ante. Vaughn and company are fully capable of that though, so it’s not a long shot that that’ll happen. We’re just gonna have to wait until September to find out for ourselves.

In terms of sequels, this one never felt necessary, but it was always inevitable once the first one did well. That’s the nature of the beast these days. Anything that does well, either domestically or internationally (and 100% guaranteed if that goes for both), is set up as a potential franchise. This one’s comic book origins only increases that. As long as it delivers the goods, no one will begrudge that. It just has to avoid feeling obligatory. Kingsman: The Secret Service was fresh and exciting, so that’s the bar for the new one. Fingers and toes are crossed that Kingsman: The Golden Circle will ultimately deliver.

You’ll see the Trailer below, but Kingsman: The Golden Circle could very well be one of the fall’s biggest blockbusters. We’re a long way out from the late September release date, but now is the time to whet your appetite a bit. This initial Trailer does exactly that, as you’re about to find out. Sit tight for plenty more on the sequel when we get into the fall months, and especially once September rolls around. Until then, this Trailer will have to suffice. Give it a look and definitely check back over the next few months for follow ups on the film…

Here now is the Trailer for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, in all its glory. Behold:

Stay tuned for more on Kingsman: The Golden Circle between now and its September 22nd release date!
