Our selected celebrity to be included in our “Hollywood TV Star of the Week Photo Gallery” is Tina Fey.

Elizabeth Stamatina “Tina” Fey (born May 18, 1970) is an American actress, comedienne, writer and producer, known for her work on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live (SNL) (1997–2006), the critically acclaimed NBC comedy series 30 Rock (2006–2013), and such films as Mean Girls (2004), Baby Mama (2008) and Date Night (2010).
Fey first broke into comedy as a featured player in the Chicago-based improvisational comedy group The Second City. She then joined SNL as a writer, later becoming head writer and a performer, known for her position as co-anchor in the Weekend Update segment. In 2004 she adapted the screenplay Mean Girls in which she also co-starred. After leaving SNL in 2006, she created the television series 30 Rock, a situation comedy loosely based on her experiences at SNL. In the series, Fey portrays the head writer of a fictional sketch comedy series. In 2008, she starred in the comedy film Baby Mama, alongside former SNL co-star Amy Poehler. Fey next appeared alongside Steve Carell in the 2010 comedy film Date Night and with Will Ferrell in the animated film Megamind.
Fey has received seven Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, five Screen Actors Guild Awards, four Writers Guild of America Awards and has been nominated for a Grammy Award for her autobiographical book Bossypants, which topped the The New York Times Best Seller list for five weeks. In 2008, the Associated Press (AP) gave Fey the AP Entertainer of the Year award for her satirical portrayal of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in a guest appearance on SNL.
In 2010, Fey was the recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, the youngest-ever winner of the award. On January 13, 2013, Fey hosted the Golden Globe Awards, along with her long-time friend and fellow comedian, Amy Poehler. This was the first time the awards ceremony was hosted by a woman. Their performance was critically acclaimed, with ABC News describing it as “spectacular.”

Tracy Morgan collapses, is hospitalized at Sundance. Was alcohol a factor?

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Once again, the main story out of the Sundance Film Festival has little to do with movies, themselves.
That’s because “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan has been hospitalized after collapsing at an awards ceremony in Park City, Utah. Gossip sites such as TMZ immediately started reporting that Morgan was intoxicated, quoting sources on the scene. But CBS News ran a statement from Morgan’s reps saying those reports are “100 percent false,” and claimed “a combination of exhaustion and altitude” for Morgan’s health issues.
Now, I’ve been following countless movie journalists at Sundance who are exhausted and suffering the same altitude that affected Morgan, and they manage to stay on their feet. They even manage to work while up in Park City. Imagine that?! So it’s up to you which version of Morgan’s story you choose to believe. Medical exams showed no drugs or alcohol in Morgan’s system, and Morgan sober still comes across as Morgan drunk. Deciding between the two could be tough.
Either way, we wish Morgan a speedy recovery. And Sundance marches on.

Rosie O’Donnell says Tracy Morgan is not homophobic

HollywoodNews.com: Tracy Morgan, who “joked” to an audience in June that he would kill his son if he came out as gay, appeared on The Rosie Show this week and said: “If my son was gay, I wouldn’t be mad at him — I’d ask him to decorate the house.”
Tracy, one of the stars of NBC’s 30 Rock, endured a public relations nightmare when his anti-gay stand-up material in that Nashville show was made public by a gay man in the audience.
He did all the apologies, met with homeless LGBT youth, came out in support of gay marriage and the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
But then in an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman a few weeks ago, he had a little bit of amnesia: “I don’t remember exactly what I said that night. I’ve done 50 shows since. Whatever I said it must have offended [audience member Kevin Rogers], and then he tweeted it out. And then I had to deal.”
For the record, Morgan said he’d “pull out a knife and stab” his son if he were gay.
He told Rosie O’Donnell on Monday night: “I want to make this place a little bit better than it was when I got here.”
Rosie made clear that she stands by Morgan telling the former SNL star: “I know you’re not homophobic, because News Flash! I’m a lesbian.”
Sorry Rosie, I’m still not convinced.

Tina Fey says she’ll never host the Emmys

HollywoodNews.com: The Emmy Awards are over, thank goodness. “Mad Men,” “Modern Family,” and “Downton Abbey” won the series awards. But the biggest surprises were Steve Carell inexplicably not being rewarded for “The Office,” Jon Hamm getting shut out for “Mad Men,” and Laura Linney not scoring for “The Big C.” Blech.
At the Governor’s Ball, our Leah Sydney ran into Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Leah asked Tina how she thought Jane Lynch did as host, and whether or not the “30 Rock” star would ever emcee the show herself.
“God, no!” exclaiming Tina, with Amy nodding in assent. “Jane was funny, quick, and clever. But I’d never host. Oh, that’s way too hard. Too much work!” Fey is also not writing a sequel to her current bestselling book. She’s overwhelmed with a new baby and new “30 Rock” episodes.
Steve Buscemi, star of “Boardwalk Empire,” disagrees. At the HBO party at the Pacific Design Center, Buscemi told Leah: “Tina Fey would be fabulous to host the Emmy show. I was sitting with them at the Emmys, I laughed all night with those two.” Now that “BE” has wrapped, Buscemi will direct an episode of “30 Rock” and may be in it, as well. “It’s hard to act and direct. It’s like walking and chewing gum, I can’t do that either.”

Alec Baldwin skips out on Emmys with his skit cut out

HollywoodNews.com: Alec Baldwin is a TV staple with his current role on ’30 Rock,’ but apparently he wasn’t so crazy about his pre-taped skit being cut from the Emmys.
Baldwin reportedly taped something for the opening, but FOX was apparently not happy with it as he took a dig at parent company News Corp and president Rupert Murdoch’s phone hacking scandal, states UsMagazine.com. Baldwin did take to Twitter about his disappointment over the cut: “I did a short Emmy pretape a few days ago. Now they tell me NewsCorp may cut the funniest line. #NewsCorphumorlessaswellascorrupt.”
However, he wasn’t exactly completely bitter over the matter as he reportedly didn’t attend the Emmys in part because he was going to Tony Bennett’s birthday party in New York.
