“Sopranos” star Vincent Pastore endorses rubber band on “Shark Tank”

By Kim Palacios
hollywoodnews.com: ABC’s “Shark Tank” saw a surprise on Thursday’s episode when a fledgling business owner marketing a money clip product called “The Broccoli Wad” showed up with actor Vincent Pastore in tow. Pastore played Salvatore ‘Big Pussy’ Bonpensiero for thirty episodes of the hit series “The Sopranos” from 1999 to 2007.
The product itself, named for its similarity to the thick rubber band used to bundle broccoli bunches, was not immediately loved by the show’s star investors (i.e., the “sharks”). Yet, investor Barbara Corcoran made the inventor a conditional offer–she would provide financing in return for 40% ownership only if the inventor agreed to rebrand the product “The Vinnie Wad” and if Pastore agreed to remain on the team for the long-term as its key endorser. She further agreed to share her 40% equally with Pastore if he accepted the terms.

Mel Gibson can rejoice, Liam Neeson reportedly cut from ‘Hangover 2′

HollywoodNews.com: Mel Gibson was hit kind of hard when he was cut from ‘Hangover 2′ and replaced by Liam Neeson, but now it seems that it is Neeson’s turn.
Todd Phillips first reportedly dropped Gibson from the film and now it seems he has to drop Neeson, states TMZ. Phillips reportedly wanted to re-shoot Neeson’s scenes, but the actor is already off working on another film and unavailable.
Now, Phillips has reportedly given the role to Nick Cassavetes who will hopefully have better luck.
Do you think the role is cursed?

How ‘Glee’s’ Darren Criss would feel about a spin-off

HollywoodNews.com: When ‘Glee’ star Darren Criss first appeared on the show, his character was instantly a hit with fans, so it would make sense that he might be getting a little more out of the role.
While a spin-off involving Criss would probably be a hit, he isn’t pushing for it just yet, states Access Hollywood. “I’m just happy to be invited to the party,” Criss said about ever working on his own show.
But, mostly, the actor is just happy to be a part of ‘Glee’ and will give whatever they want from him: “A spin-off, whatever they want, I’m happy where I am.”
Would you watch a Darren Criss spin-off?

“Green Lantern” lawsuit filed in L.A.

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Apparently “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” isn’t the only superhero property that’s hazardous to an actor’s health.
John Franco, a special effects worker on Warner Bros.’ upcoming “Green Lantern” film, has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming “unspecified damages from an incident he claims took place in July 2010 on the Louisiana set” of Martin Campbell’s superhero flick.
Though the suit lacks specific details, THR reports that Franco claims to have suffered “numerous internal and external injuries, severe fright, shock, pain, discomfort and anxiety.”
Who hasn’t?
But Franco is thinking big, trying to sue Warner, DC Comics, South Bay EXF Inc. and virtually anyone associated with “Green Lantern.” Watch your back, Ryan Reynolds.
Warner did not comment on the suit. Smart move.
As for “Green Lantern,” it will be in theaters on June 17. Let’s hope it doesn’t cause us severe fright, shock, pain, discomfort and anxiety.

SAG, AFTRA edge closer to merger – BREAKING NEWS

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: After months of negotiations, the leaders of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists appear ready to head toward a crucial merger.
In a message sent to members of both unions late Wednesday night that was acquired by THR, SAG and AFTRA leaders revealed that they had unanimously approved “draft resolutions for consideration by the unions’ respective National Boards of Directors” to potentially merge the two organizations into one body with a unified mission and “a plan to create committees tasked with forming a timeline for the merger process.”
THR notes that SAG will “convene its next national board meeting, where it will likely consider the resolution, April 30. AFTRA’s next national board meeting is to take place May 14.”
“Each step we take together brings us closer to our crucial goal of becoming one union, and last weekend’s meeting was no exception,” said SAG president Ken Howard (pictured). “I look forward to sharing our work with the SAG-AFTRA Relations Task Force and, ultimately, the SAG National Board later this month.”
“I am very proud of the strong partnership and clear vision that AFTRA and SAG members are forging together through this process,” AFTRA president Roberta Reardon added. “We have come a very long way in a short period of time, and I applaud each and every member who has participated in this exciting and important endeavor.”
