J.K. Rowling Gives Donation to Fund MS Research Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has donated £10m (approximately $15 million) towards the fight for a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
The funds, which were donated to the University of Edinburgh, are aimed to attract researchers who will help to aggressively find a cure for multiple sclerosis. The Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic will also strive to find causes and cures for other neurological conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. The clinic is named in honour of Rowling’s mother, who died of the disease in 1990 at the relatively young age of 45, the same age the author is now. Of the donation, Rowling states:

“I have supported research into the cause and treatment of multiple sclerosis for many years now, but when I first saw the proposal for this clinic I knew that I had found a project more exciting, more innovative, and, I believe, more likely to succeed in unravelling the mysteries of MS than any other I had read about or been asked to fund.
“I am incredibly impressed by the calibre of clinicians and researchers that Edinburgh has already managed to attract to make this project a reality, and I truly believe that it is set to become a world centre for excellence in the field of regenerative neurology.”

The Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.
Rowling was a patron of the MS Society Scotland until stepping down last year due to internal conflicts within the organization. She has continued to vocal about her hope to find a cure for the disease, and it’s great that she is using her celebrity and wealth to help a great cause.
Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system – or more specifically – the brain and spinal cord. You can find out more information about Multiple Sclerosis by visiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s webpage here.

Michael Jackson’s son may have same skin disease

By Andy Pemberton New pictures reveal that the eldest son of Michael Jackson, Prince Michael, could have the same skin disease as his dad.
The 13 year old revealed white patches under his arm while on a recent holiday to Hawaii with his siblings Paris, 12 and Prince Michael II, eight.
While it could just be a result of exposure to the sun, it looked more serious than just peeling skin.
Vitiligo is a hereditary skin condition whioch discolours the face and the body. Jackson blamed the disease for the gradual lightening of his own skin over the years. Critics claimed he intentionally bleached his skin.

Alexa Ray Joel’s New Beau Singer- Songwriter, Alexa Ray Joel is mending her broken heart with a new love interest. Joel, 24, has met Cass Dillon a fellow musician in the business.
According to People Magazine, Joel was hospitalized last December, apparently, from a broken-hearted suicide attempt over a serious boyfriend. She was reported stating that she was not obviously thinking clearly and that she takes full responsibility for her actions.
Now on the mend, Joel met Dillion, 24, when he was hired to play guitar on Joel’s latest album. Her first single titled “Notice Me” was released May 24, 2010 and has been a success for the promising young artist.
It seems things are looking up from the sorrow of the past winter. Some even speculate that Joel’s famous father, Billy Joel, may approve of the new beau. And Miss Alexa Ray Joel may not be the only one feeling frisky summer lovin’.
According to People Magazine Billy split last June from wife Katie Lee, was spotted “having a late lunch with an unknown blonde at Sant Ambroeus in Southampton, N.Y.”
The magazine noted that it seemed the two enjoyed the afternoon, each carrying motorcycle helmets (hers was pink), and picking up magazines from local shops before leaving.
