MTV Movie Awards round-up, Sandra Bullock collects top award

Hollywoodnews.com: What didn’t happen at this year’s MTV Movie Awards? The cable network’s kudo telecast upstaged even the Golden Globes as the award ceremony with the most hysterical moments.
Watching the show, one knew the night was off to a great start when Justin Bieber told host Aziz Ansari in his dressing room that he was there to make the girls go crazy. At which point Bieber turned on a blow dryer and dried his puppy dog ‘do.
Other highlights included Tom Cruise’s “Tropic Thunder” producer/ film executive Les Grossman foul-mouthing and gyrating to hip-hop tunes. At one point, Grossman rudely interrupted Ed Helm’s piano-rendition of “The Hangover” tune “Stu’s Song” (complete with dance routine by the film’s Ken Jeong in a leopard female bathing suit); demanding that the two immediately leave the stage.
“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” rallied five of the ceremony’s 12 popcorn statues. There was also an exclusive clip from “The Twilight Saga: The Eclipse” which screened to screaming fans.

Sandra Bullock became the first female recipient to receive MTV’s top honor, the Generation Award. Bullock celebrated by kissing presenter Scarlett Johansson onstage. Bullock was joined by her former co-stars Bradley Cooper and Betty White.

“Sandy, I know I’m not alone in saying I hope you know how loved you are,” said Cooper who starred with Bullock in “All About Steve, “Both for your incredible talent and for being such a humble and effervescent woman. I know you by many names: Sandra B., Sands, S Bomb, Supreme, Sausage, Sanda Duche.”
“You’re a once-in-a-generation talent,” he added. “You inspire me with the ability to shine through any darkness, and congratulations on this award.”
Bullock pulled out a piece of paper and read: “I am not dead. Number 2, everybody has cellulite, not just me. Paparazzi need more flattering lenses. Whoever established the high road and how high it was going to be should be fired. And I’ve never gone 14 days without showering, while chain-smoking while crying on the shoulder of my sweet aunt Ludie, because I shower twice a day, I don’t smoke and sweet Aunt Ludie died a year ago.”
Bullock asked Johansson why she was presenting, to which the actress replied that she was filling in for hubby Ryan Reynolds, who shared a nice slow kiss with Bullock in “The Proposal.” This set-up an awkward moment for Bullock to smooch Johansson in homage [...]

Justin Bieber gets flak from Jeremy Renner in MTV Movie Awards Promo

HollywoodNews.com: Justin Bieber is the latest pop sensation to grace the airwaves, so if you haven’t heard of him, then you’ve been living under a rock for the past year. Anything this kid touches turns to gold, so it makes sense that MTV would turn to him to make a cameo in one of their promo spots for the MTV Movie Awards, which airs Sunday, June 6th at 9 p.m. ET.
In the clip, “The Hurt Locker’s” Jeremy Renner gives Justin Bieber a little attitude when he crunches on his chips too loudly during the scene he’s performing in 4-D. Of course host Aziz Ansari is there to facilitate the argument, which ends with one message for the viewer: don’t disrespect the Bieber.

Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Diddy confirmed for MTV Movie Awards

By Sean O’Connell
The MTV Movie Awards frequently serves as an opportunity for celebrities (and movie studios) to promote other projects they have on the horizon.
So it’s no surprise that Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz — co-stars of the upcoming action comedy “Knight and Day” — will appear together and present an award at the fan-friendly ceremony. The movie awards will be held June 6 in Los Angeles … three weeks before “Knight” reaches theaters. Convenient.
Cruise and Diaz are some of the first celebs to be announced, according to People. They join rapper-turned-mogul Diddy as scheduled presenters. But looking at the list of summer blockbusters, you can almost guess that MTV faves Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and Jonah Hill could stop by to promote “Grown Ups,” “The Other Guys” and “Get Him to the Greek,” respectively. It also wouldn’t be a surprise to see young Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan, stars
of Sony’s “Karate Kid” remake, popping up to present Best Fight. Just speculation, but anything is possible.
There will be new categories for fans to vote in this year, according to People. “Biggest Bad-Ass Star,” “Best Scared-As-Shit Performance” and “Global Superstar” have been added to the mix of categories. And international fans now have the opportunity to vote using their local MTV Web sites. Voting begins May 12, and runs through June 5.
Comedian Aziz Ansari of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” hosts the ceremony, which will air on MTV on June 6, at 9 p.m. EST.

MTV Movie Awards to be hosted by Aziz Ansari

Aziz Ansari may not be a household name yet, but he will be after his next gig. Recently he can be seen on the NBC show “Parks and Recreation,” that is from the producers of “The Office.” In addition, he landed a role in MTV’s sketch show “Human Giant,” which really put him on the radar. Since then he has appeared on “Flight of the Conchords” and as a recurring role on “Scrubs.” Now he is going to be hosting the MTV Movie Awards and you can bet that his career will only go up from here.
MTV announced that in a statement he said, “I’m so happy Ronnie from ‘Jersey Shore’ was unavailable and this exciting opportunity was able to come my way.” They report that general manager of MTV stated, “Aziz is the perfect host for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, as he will bring his innovative comedy and distinctive style to the movie industry’s most rebellious night on television.”
The MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday, June 6 at 9 p.m. ET.
