Gavin Rossdale announces Bush reunion

HollywoodNews.com: Earlier this week we reported that Bush was going to be one of the artists joining headliners Eminem, Blink-182, and KISS at the Epicenter Twenty Ten concert.
However, Gavin Rossdale has officially gone on the Los Angeles radio station, KROQ, to announce that Bush is returning to the front line in 2010. Their show at the Epicenter weekend will be the first live show in eight years.
Also in the fall, the first new studio album in nine years from Bush will be released on Interscope titled, “Everything Always Now.” The new album was produced by Bob Rock, who also produced Gavin’s 2008 solo debut, Wanderlust which spawned the crossover hit single, “Love Remains the Same” (and whose credits include seminal work with Metallica, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, and more).
It all came full circle for Bush when Gavin previewed “Afterlife,” the first single pick from “Everything Always Now,” during the KROQ interview. KROQ launched Bush’s career on the Rock charts in late-1994, with their debut hit single, “Everything Zen,” from their 6-times RIAA platinum debut album Sixteen Stone. It was the maiden voyage of the British band that emerged two years earlier from Shepherd’s Bush and went on to more than 16-times platinum cumulative album sales in the U.S. and Canada alone: Razorblade Suitcase (1996), Deconstructed (1997), The Science of Things (1999), and Golden State (2001).
Over the same period, Bush compiled an amazing string of 14 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Billboard Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, including ten that hit the Top 5. Four of these became #1 hits that forever define the decade of the ’90s: “Comedown” (1995), “Glycerine” (1995), “Swallowed” (1996), and “The Chemicals Between Us” (1999).

Angels & Airwaves release music video for “Hallucinations”

Angels & Airwaves, the project behind Blink-182 member Tom Delonge, have just released their music video for their latest single “Hallucinations.” The video features a lot of performance shots against a blue backlight intercut with images of Delonge and the band walking through what looks like an empty parking lot. The second half of the video is better than the first half as the cuts get faster, the lights get more mesmerizing, and the variety of locations increase. While this video has no real story line unlike many of their other videos, it did give us a glimpse into what a live show of theirs might look like for their upcoming tour.
Enjoy the video below:

Angels & Airwaves to give away new album for free

BY LINELLE SCHULTZ
The band Angels & Airwaves (AVA), from brainchild Tom DeLonge (Blink-182), will be releasing their new album “Love” in stores on February 14, 2010, but for two days before the launch, they will allow fans to download the entire album for free from Fuel.tv. DeLonge has always been known to create elaborate ideas to promote AVA from music video teasers to entire dvd’s. He has always been about the fans, the music and never about the money, so this doesn’t come as a total surprise that the band would decide to cut a deal like this.
I do have to wonder how this download, if publicized greatly, will affect the sales of the album. In the current economic state, cd’s are becoming one of the first things to get cut because there is so much easy accessibility to the same content online, but for free. I know I will be downloading the album online for free not because I don’t want the hard copy, but because of the fact that I can get it two days earlier than the store date. I will probably go buy it two days later just to get the artwork and tangible cd, but I think that this will drop their total sales.
But then again, for DeLonge, it has never been about the money or the stats, so I’m sure this is exactly what he wanted.
