‘Celebrity Apprentice’ chooses a final winner

HollywoodNews.com: Another season of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ has come and gone with one person winning the final challenge last night.
Donald Trump ended up firing Clay Aiken last night which means that he crowned Arsenio Hall the winner, states RadarOnline. With winning, Arsenio earned $250,000 for his charity, the Magic Johnson Foundation.
The final competition required both men to create a variety show and a 30-second PSA for their charities. While Clay earned almost twice as much with his fundraiser, Arsenio won the grand prize.

HollywoodNews.com: Donald Trump is getting down to business as he fired two stars from the latest season of ‘Celebrity Apprentice.’
With the cast being down to five people, Trump decided to send two celebrities packing after poor performances, states RadarOnline.com. It ended up being ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star Teresa Giudice and Lisa Lampanelli who were let go.
Teresa was fired as her team lost the challenge, but Lampanelli was fired after former winner John Rich and runner-up Marlee Matlin came in to interview the contestants and choose who couldn’t make it.
Clay Aiken, Arsenio Hall and Aubrey O’Day are still in the running to win.

Clay Aiken will be on “Celebrity Apprentice”

HollywoodNews.com: I’m not saying I’d ever seen more than a handful of episodes of Celebrity Apprentice over the years but I completely boycotted the show anyway after host Donald Trump decided to become anti-gay marriage when he was caught up in running for president.
Frankly, I don’t see how any gay person can agree to be on the show with Trump but reportedly, Clay Aiken is among the celebrities who will be taking part. I hope Clay get the chance, and takes the chance, to question Trump about this stance against LGBT equality.
I’m always extra rankled when someone who has been married three times does not believe that same-sex couples deserve that same right.

Tori Spelling in hilarious “Funny or Die” spoof on “Hoarders.”

HollywoodNews.com: Who knew?
In this very funny video from Funny or Die, Dean McDermott makes a startling revelation: “My wife hoards gays.”
With the help of an intervention counselor (played by Oscar nominee Sally Kirkland), the one and only Tori Spelling is forced to confront her homosexual hoarding which she admits is completely out of control because she “just love gays.”

In the clip called Hoarders: Untold sTori, Tori must remove dozens of gay men from her home, literally forcing them out of her closets and stairways. But at the end, she is given the chance to choose just one gay — and picks Clay Aiken, who ultimately helps with her recovery.

Clay Aiken on the misconception about him

By Greg Hernandez
HollywoodNews.com: There are many reasons why I respect Ricky Martin and one of the biggest is that he came out publicly last year very much an evolved man who was well aware of the big step he was taking.
Yes, everyone pretty much assumed Ricky was gay but he never said so publicly and he certainly was not out.
And neither was Jonathan Knight of New Kids on the Block, skater Johnny Weir and singer Clay Aiken. But that has not stopped the latter three from making the incredulous statements recently that they were never in.
Puleeze.
If you are famous and you are gay and you are not out publicly, then you are not out. You don’t have to be out, it’s your right to be in. But once you take that step and do an interview and state publicly for the first time that you are gay, why on Earth claim you were never in?
It’s silly.
Here’s what Clay had to say in an interview with ‘GAVoice’: “There was this misconception that I was not out. I was in ‘Spamalot’ and everyone knew, but I don’t necessarily want to sit at a table with strangers and tell them. When you come out, you do it with people you are comfortable with. … I definitely do see the liberation and understand the rationalization of people wanting me to be out. On the other hand, I wouldn’t say that coming out has made me happier because that implies I was not happy before and I was.”
Well, I’m glad Clay was happy then and is happy now. He’s a talented guy and deserves to be happy.

Adam Lambert is our “Hollywood Celebrity of the Year”

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Forget about winning “American Idol.” The show’s runners-up often have better careers.
For every winner like Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson, there is a major talent in the pop show’s No. 2 slot who goes on to meet – or surpass – the singer who beat them out. We’re talking about runners-up like Clay Aiken, Katharine McPhee and, of course, our “Hollywood Celebrity of the Year” … Adam Lambert.

Lambert was destined for fame. He just happened to find it in 2010. Sure, his debut album, “For Your Entertainment,” hit streets late in 2009.
But it was his worldwide “Glam Nation Tour” and consistent airplay for singles like “Whataya Want From Me,” “If I Had You” and the album’s title track that kept Lambert on our radars all year.

And it’s his immeasurable talent (and undeniable flair) that should keep him front and center as 2011 roars in. Lambert’s musicianship has made him a pop-culture sensation. His album peaked at No. 3 on U.S. Billboard 200 while climbing international ranks. We can’t wait to hear his follow up. Until then, Adam Lambert will have to be content being our “Hollywood Celebrity of the Year.” Congratulations!

Clay Aiken releases companion DVD ‘Tried and True Live’

By Greg Hernandez
HollywoodNews.com: Clay Aiken is currently on tour with his “American Idol” buddy Ruben Studdard (hard to believe that Ruben, not Clay, was the season 2 champ, no?).
But if you want to enjoy Clay all my himself, this new DVD “Clay Aiken: Tried and True Live,” should be a just have.
Live is the companion DVD of the release of Clay’s new CD and PBS special. It was taped at the Progress Energy Center for Performing Arts Center this past March 12 and features Clay singing classic standards including Mack The Knife, What Kind Of Fool Am I and Suspicious Minds.
I heard from a lot of Clay’s fans a few months back who objected to the fact that I described their favorite singer as an openly gay man because it doesn’t/shouldn’t matter.

Clay Aiken says being “gay is not news”

By Greg Hernandez
HollywoodNews.com: I learned recently how a lot of Clay Aiken fans don’t like a big deal being made about their star being gay. I did a short item on his new tour and album and noted that they were his first since coming out publicly last year.
I got an earful from dozens of fans who feel strongly that Clay’s sexuality is irrelevant. An interview Clay did with Popeater makes you wonder if the singer himself sets this tone.
Clay was asked if he has fans who write in and talk to him to let him know that his coming out of the closet has helped them.
