We’re still a few months from Wes Craven’s latest “Scream,” but the details we are learning about the sequel have piqued our interest.

For starters, most of the original cast returns (including Neve Campbell on top of Cox and Arquette). There’s also a gorgeous cast of fresh-faced meat for Ghostface to slaughter: Hayden Panettiere, Emma Roberts, Marley Shelton, Alison Brie, Kristen Bell and Anna Paquin. Sign us up.

“I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life,” Cox told PEOPLE. “I love and support him.”

The couple have a 6-year-old daughter, Coco, so Cox has good reason to hope for Arquette’s good health.

As we reported yesterday, Arquette entered rehab after he was seen partying at Beacher’s Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel on New Year’s Eve.

HollywoodNews.com: David Arquette is usually the life of the party, but after his separation from wife Courtney Cox, his partying ways may have begun to get out of control. The combination of late nights, wacky outfits, and outrageous late night antics has prompted Arquette to seek treatment.

Sources report that the actor is seeking treatment for issues stemming from alcohol, but not any other drugs. Arquette was seen partying at Beacher’s Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel on New Year’s Eve before he checked himself into a live-in facility. When asked why Arquette was going to rehab, a source close to David said, it is “the right thing to do for his family,” reports TMZ.

The clip opens with original “Scream” queen Neve Campbell back on the telephone trading barbs with Ghostface, the killer who has stalked Sidney Prescott since 1996. The lingo in the trailer seems to suggest the self-referential humor of the first film, where Matthew Lillard and Jamie Kennedy’s film nerds predicted what would happened based on the thousands of horror movies they’d screened over the years.

“There are still rules, but the rules have changed,” one characters claims. “The killer has to be way more extreme.”

That sounds like a promise. Will Wes Craven be able to keep it?

The fourth “Scream” looks to take advantage of a new generation’s tendency to record everything on a handheld device. That gives Craven and crew a new avenue to explore. He also has plenty of new cast members joining Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox. Look for Kristen Bell, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Anthony Anderson, Marley Shelton, Adam Brody and Allison Brie to meet the pointy end of Ghostface’s blade.

Oh, and virgins can die now.

During last night’s season finale of “Mad Men” on AMC, audiences received an exclusive look at David O. Russell’s “The Fighter.” YouTube has the embed clip here.

I love the way this clip is edited together. It takes the clichéd elements of the boxing soap opera and amplifies them into a jumbled, nervous, antagonistic stew. The strings layered beneath the clip add the right tension, while a wiry Bale looks like he’s going to pummel each scene into the ground (a compliment, believe me). “The Fighter” opens in select cities on Dec. 10.

Meanwhile, a teaser for “Scream 4” aired during this weekend’s Scream Awards. And while an official version likely will be online later this week, a version has leaked to the Internet (and can be seen here, courtesy of ComingSoon).

The sequel, directed by Wes Craven, is earning headlines for reuniting original “Scream” stars Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette. That’s going to make for an uncomfortable press push next year, given that Cox and Arquette just split. But they won’t have to do all of the heavy publicity lifting, as the cast is brimming with celebrities and talent. Looks for Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Marley Shelton, Alison Brie, Anthony Anderson, Adam Brody, Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell when “Scream 4” opens next spring.

Most of you know Wes Craven is returning to the “Scream” franchise, and he’s bringing almost all of the original players back to the board for a fourth installment. Neve Campbell reprises the role of Sidney Prescott. Husband-and-wife tandem David Arquette and Courtney Cox are back, as is screenwriter Kevin Williamson.

Several new faces are joining the “Scream” family this time around — from Hayden Panettiere and Emma Roberts to Adam Brody and Anthony Anderson — but last night, an extremely familiar face popped up online, courtesy of Craven’s Flickr account. That’s right. Ghostface is ready for his close-up. Check him out here.

This is no big surprise. Of course Ghostface would be the main villain in a fourth “Scream.” But is he the only villain? Details are still under wraps on “Scream 4,” and we’ll have to wait until next year to find out more. Currently in production, “Scream 4” hits theaters April 15, 2011.

Carolyn is riding a wonderful professional wave right now with her first Daytime Emmy nomination for her performance as mob attorney Diane Miller on General Hospital. She also lights up the screen on ABC’s Cougar Town in the recurring role of lascivious Barb. If she’s on the screen, chances are she’ll have the best line – even opposite star Courtney Cox.

ABC’s risky move of launching a Wednesday comedy block of all new shows has paid off with the network announcing Tuesday that it has renewed “Modern Family,” “Cougar Town” and “The Middle” for second seasons.

The announcement was made at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena by Stephen McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment Group.

“It really creatively was a wonderful fall,” McPherson said. “I hear … anecdotal stuff about people watching as a family through the night.”

“Family” is the highest-rated new comedy of the season and has been finishing second in its time slot behind CBS’s ‘Criminal Minds.’ It has also been critically acclaimed and nominated for a host of awards including the Golden Globe for outstanding comedy and the Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding comedy series ensemble.

‘Cougar Town’ stars Courtney Cox as a newly divorced single mother exploring the dating world and is the first comedy series since ‘Friends’ for its Golden Globe Award nominated star who is also an executive producer.

“The Middle” has been a far bigger success for Patricia Heaton than her previous sitcom “Back to You” which lasted one season on Fox. The former “Everybody Loves Raymond” star plays a harried wife and working mother of three kids living in the Midwest.

Not as positive have been the ratings for the comedies “Better off Ted” and “Scrubs.”

“I’m not going to lie,” McPherson said. “The numbers are not encouraging.”

He sounded more optimistic about the prospects for the struggling “Ugly Betty” which bombed in a Friday timeslot and been shifted to Wednesdays where initial ratings have not been good.

“We still really love that show,” he said. “I want to find the right place for it.”

McPherson also said he is looking forward to the returns on the ambitious fall dramas “Flash Forward” and “V” this spring, “Flash” will return in March while the return date for “V” is not completely nailed down. He said production issues is what curtailed the first part of the season for “V.”

On the reality front, it was announced that “Dancing With the Stars” will premiere its 10th season on March 22. McPherson said the show will be cutting back the number of contestants to about a dozen and acknowledged a troubled fall season where “we had some unlucky breaks in terms of people dropping out last time.”

The network also revealed that it will premiere a spinoff of “The Bachelor” in the summer called “Bachelor Pad.” It will call for 20 former contestants from “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” to live together in a “Big Brother” type of house and compete in challenges.
