“The Social Network” cast at the Hollywood Awards Gala

HollywoodNews.com: The Cast of David Fincher’s “The Social Network,” which include Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer, Max Minghella, Josh Pence, Brenda Song, Rashida Jones, Douglas Urbanski and Rooney Mara, were recognized at the Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony with the “Hollywood Ensemble Acting Award.”
ABOUT JESSE EISENBERG
Trained in theater and film, JESSE EISENBERG (Mark Zuckerberg) made his feature film debut in the 2002 independent film “Rodger Dodger,” in which he starred opposite Campbell Scott and for which he was nominated for a Gotham Award.
For his performance in “The Squid and the Whale” opposite Laura Linney and Jeff Daniels, Eisenberg received nominations for an Independent Spirit Award and a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor.
In 2009, he starred in “Adventureland” for director Greg Mottola and in “Zombieland” for director Ruben Fleischer. For these films, he was nominated for a BAFTA Award. Eisenberg has just reteamed with director Ruben Fleischer this summer to shoot the film “30 Minutes or Less,” opposite Danny McBride. Eisenberg is also the lead voice of the 20th Century Fox animated film Rio, which will open next year.
ABOUT ANDREW GARFIELD
Andrew Garfield (Eduardo Saverin) is a BAFTA-winning actor. He can currently be seen starring opposite Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan in Mark Romanek’s “Never Let Me Go.”
Other screen projects include Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”; Spike Jonze’s robot love story “I’m Here”; Robert Redford’s “Lions for Lambs”; Revolution Films’ “Red Riding Trilogy” directed by Julian Jarrold; and John Crowley’s “Boy A,” for which he earned the Best Actor BAFTA in 2008.
Garfield’s career began in the theater and in 2006 his performances in “Beautiful Thing,” “The Overwhelming and Burn,” “Chatroom,” and “Citizenship” won him the award for Outstanding Newcomer at the Evening Standard Awards, and the Jack Tinker Award for Most Promising Newcomer at the Critics Circle Awards. Other notable theatre credits include “Romeo and Juliet” and “Kes,” for which he received the Most Promising Newcomer Award at the Manchester Evening News Awards 2004.
Garfield will next star as Peter Parker in the forthcoming “Spider-Man” film, to be directed by Marc Webb.

Robert Stromberg at the Hollywood Awards Gala

HollywoodNews.com: Academy Award® winning Production Designer Robert Stromberg, whose work has been most recently featured in Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” and James Cameron’s “Avatar,” will receive the Hollywood Film Festival’s Hollywood Production Designer of the Year Award at the Festival’s October 25 Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony, it was announced yesterday by festival founder and president Carlos de Abreu. Stromberg’s selection followed a recommendation to the festival by the Art Directors Guild Council.
Stromberg was first introduced to Cameron in 2005. They immediately formed a unique creative relationship, which eventually evolved into the creation of “Pandora” for the film “Avatar.” Stromberg along with Rick Carter became co-production designers for the film and in 2009 they won the Academy Award® for Best Achievement in Art Direction for this work. In addition, Stromberg and Carter were honored with the Art Directors Guild’s Excellence in Production Design Award and the BAFTA Film Award for Best Production Design for “Avatar.”
In 2008, Stromberg was introduced to Burton and again a creative bond was formed and Stromberg was hired as the production designer on “Alice in Wonderland” (2010). Together they created a unique spin on the offbeat universe of this classic tale.

Janek Sirrs at the Hollywood Awards Gala

HollywoodNews.com: “Iron Man 2″ is Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios’ sequel to “Iron Man,” which is the big screen adaptation of Marvel’s legendary superhero Tony Stark/Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who vows to protect the world as Iron Man. The film, directed by Jon Favreau, also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke, and Don Cheadle.
Visual Effects Supervisor Janek Sirrs has had a hand in the visual effects for movies including “I Am Legend,” “Batman Begins,” “The Matrix,” and “The Big Lebowksi,” among many others, and has had the opportunity to work with directors as varied as Christopher Nolan, Jon Favreau, John Woo, Peter Weir, Taylor Hackford and Joel Coen. Janek won an Academy Award and a BAFTA in 1999 for his work on “The Matrix.”

Kirk Baxter and Angus Wall at the Hollywood Awards Gala

HollywoodNews.com: Kirk Baxter and Angus Wall were both nominated for an Academy Award for their editing work on “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. Together they edited David Fincher’s latest masterpiece “The Social Network” that stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake. In addition, they both edited David Fincher’s “Zodiac” starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
Baxter’s previous credits include title designer for HBO’s “Big Love” and editor on the Academy Award nominated short live action film “Killing Joe.” Wall’s previous editing credits include Mike Mills’ “Thumbsucker”; John Woo’s “Hostage” starring Clive Owen; David Fincher’s “Panic Room” starring Jodie Foster, Kristen Stewart, and Forest Whitaker; and Adam Collis’ “Sunset Strip” starring Simon Baker.

Barry Pepper at the Hollywood Awards Gala
