New Photo: Video Previews of “Deathly Hallows – Part 2″

HollywoodNews.com: “Harry Potter Weekend” has kicked off on ABC Family, and fans got a much-anticipated glimpse into what the future holds for Harry, Ron and Hermione with an exclusive preview of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, which is due in theaters on July 15.
The first official photo from the film shows Harry standing on a bridge (presumably at Hogwarts), which was glaringly absent from Deathly Hallows – Part 1, as the trio of friends were on the run from the Death Eaters and Ministry employees now under the control of Lord Voldemort.
The video preview included clips of interviews with stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, producers David Heyman and David Barron, and director David Yates. Fans who read – and cried – through the final book will recognize key scenes in the video, although those same scenes will be considered spoilery for fans of the film series only. Either way, it is apparent that the eighth installment promises to be the most exciting, emotional and heartbreaking finale to what is one of the most successful franchises in film history.
But don’t take my word for it, view the video below and judge for yourself.

“Harry Potter Weekend” will continue throughout the weekend; details can be found here.

Casting for Young Snape, Youngest Malfoy for “Deathly Hallows – Part 2″

HollywoodNews.com: Fresh off of the December reshoots for the Epilogue scene in next summer’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, more casting has been revealed for younger roles in the series finale.
First, 14-year old Benedict Clark will play the role of a much younger Severus Snape, which seems to indicate that fans of the books will get to see scenes from Snape’s memories that will finally reveal his part in the Harry/Voldemort saga and just how deep his duplicity ran between the Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix.
The role of Scorpius Malfoy – Draco’s son – will be played by 13-year old Bertie Gilbert. Scorpius will be seen in the Epilogue scene, which takes place 19 years after the Final Battle at Hogwarts that determines the fate of both Harry and Voldemort.
The reshoot of the epilogue took place in December, after photos of the earlier shoot were released and fans complained about the look of the actors in the final scenes. In the books, the main characters are around age 35 for the final chapter; photos from the scenes previously filmed showed the actors looking more into their 40s and 50s, with receding hairlines and wrinkles.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 will be in theaters July 15, 2011.

Helena Bonham Carter Discusses “Deathly Hallows”

By Hanako M. Ricks
HollywoodNews.com: Helena Bonham Carter, who is both loved and hated as Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter films, recently talked about filming her character’s final scenes and her feelings on completing her time as the evilest of Lord Voldemort’s followers.
In an interview with MTV News, Bonham Carter gave insight on her final days of filming (spoiler alert!) and also her feelings about working on the beloved film series.

“You know what was weird, which has never happened on a film, was I died on my last day. Usually you die the middle of the shoot. But they actually killed me off on my last day. So there was a sense of real end and finality. They zapped me. My last shot was me dead.
“So it was…I definitely had a sense of finality and a real sense of loss, because I really got involved with people. You had to, you know, not ‘you had to’ — they were a really nice group of people and I miss them all.”

Bonham Carter will appear in both of the final films; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 will be released in theaters next Friday (November 19), with Part 2 concluding the series on July 15, 2011.

New Images of the 7 Potters, Draco, Bellatrix and Dobby from “Deathly Hallows”

By Hanako M. Ricks
HollywoodNews.com: The Harry Potter images keep coming, and if they are any indication, we can expect Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to live up to the hype in being one of the darkest – and probably the best – films in the Harry Potter franchise thus far.
In one of the new images that Warner Bros. released this week, the banner above depicts one of the scenes most anticipated among fans: that of the “7 Potters”, where Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, Mundungus Fletcher and Fleur Delacour all drink Polyjuice Potion to disguise themselves as Harry in an attempt to help confuse Death Eaters who are scheming to kidnap Harry when he leaves his aunt & uncle’s home just prior to his 17th birthday.
In one of the latest posters to make the internet rounds, we see an image of Death Eater Bellatrix – brilliantly portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter – in a poster that compliments last week’s release of Voldemort and Snape posters that informs viewers that “The Hunt Begins”.

Draco Malfoy and house-elf Dobby (who has not been in the franchise since 2002′s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) are both given the close-up treatment in the latest additions to the character closeup posters that were also released last week. They join the trio of Harry, Ron and Hermione, as well as Voldmort, Snape, Fenrir Greyback, and Bellatrix, whose posters were released last week.

The first installment of the epic final film will be in theaters on November 19, with the finale to follow up next summer on July 15.

More Promotional Images from “Deathly Hallows”

By Hanako M. Ricks
HollywoodNews.com: More promotional images have been released for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1,” which will be in theaters November 19.
The first two posters show Hermione (Emma Watson) in separate posters with Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and Ron (Rupert Grint) with the tagline “Trust No One”.

The third poster shows an evil Bellatrix (Helena Bonham Carter) with Lucius (Jason Isaacs) lurking in the background.

The last image shows two of the Death Eaters who are pursuing the trio while on the run, Fenrir Greyback (Dave Legeno) and Scabior (Nick Moran).

Warner Bros. recently announced that Part 1 of Deathly Hallows will not be released in 3D, due to the time constraints involved with converting the film. Part 2 of the film, due in July 2011, will be released in both 2D and 3D.

Did New “Harry Potter” Film Get Too Gory?

HollywoodNews.com: How’s this for a change of pace: apparently, some scenes had to be cut from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows because they were too gory.
According to comments made to Absolute Radio DJ Christian O’Connell, Nick Moran – who plays snatcher Scabior in the final two Harry Potter films, “the scenes I did were really, really dark.” Some of his scenes did not make the final cut of the film and when he asked why, producer David Heyman stated that the scenes were like “watching Saw“.
In the series, Snatchers are individuals – similar to Bounty Hunters – who are in pursuit of individuals that have been identified by the Ministry of Magic as “undesirables”: Muggle-born wizards (those who were born to non-magic parents) or “blood-traitors” (pure-blood wizards who accept all wizards regardless of their birthright). Harry, Ron and Hermione have the misfortune of running into a gang of them while they are on the run from the Ministry.
The Harry Potter films have gotten progressively darker over the years, which chronicles the growing danger and ultimate battle that will be fought between Harry Potter and the evil Lord Voldemort.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released in two parts, with Part 1 coming to theaters on November 19, followed by Part 2 on July 15, 2011.
