Michael Moore drops a surprise new film with “Michael Moore in TrumpLand”

There’s something really cool about a filmmaker dropping their new work as a surprise, out of the blue like something a musician might do with a new album. Right in the middle of last week, I got to see the new Michael Moore movie, which had literally just been completed the morning before. A one man show as much as a documentary, Michael Moore in TrumpLand is a real interesting bit of cinema. You might think it would be a Fahrenheit 9/11 style takedown of Donald Trump, but it’s not really that. If anything, it’s closer to a case being made for Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States. Coming from Moore, who has never been a supporter, it takes an unusual path too. This is something well worth seeing, especially if you like Moore. Even if you don’t, you should give this a chance.
Again, the film is not quite a documentary in the purest sense of the word, but something closer to a one man show. Taking the stage of a theater in a small Ohio Town, Michael Moore more or less does a TED Talk style presentation, meant to move undecided or leaning Trump/third party voters to support Clinton in the upcoming election. He does this by looking at why voters might pick Trump, what he would be like as President, and finally who Clinton actually is and what she brings to the table. It’s all done with Moore’s usual mix of comedy and righteousness. A lot of how you might respond to this will depend on how you feel about Moore. As the writer, director, and star, it’s really his show, through and through.
Here, Moore is attempting to make the case across the aisle. This is a bit different than his normal modus operandi with his docs. I appreciate both methods, but this is meant to be slightly bipartisan. It’ll find a small audience, though awards will be harder to come by. Frankly, I doubt this will wind up an Academy Award nominee in Best Documentary Feature, though it is currently getting an Oscar qualifying run last/this week. Regardless of that, though, Moore has bigger fish to fry. Would he love to be nominated again, this time for Michael Moore in TrumpLand? Sure. Would he rather make sure we have a President Clinton as opposed to a President Trump? Without question. That goes without […]

Websites Offer Exclusive Hollywood Access

By ROBERT W. WELKOS
“Don’t Miss this Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity to Meet Miley Cyrus.”
That’s just one of the “celebrities for hire” listed on a website called Millionaire’s Concierge out of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., that also dangles the opportunity for its presumably rich clientele exclusive entre to major movie premieres, awards shows, walk-on roles “in the Hottest TV Shows or Films,” and many other luxury experiences.
“The World’s Biggest Stars Come to You!” the website exults.
“Hiring a celebrity for your next party won’t just provide you with the opportunity to meet a beloved star—it produces enormous entertainment value for you and your guests. Whether you’re planning a sweet-sixteen birthday party, celebrating a recent accomplishment, or simply painting the town red for the sake of it, a celebrity performance will turn your special occasion into an unforgettable experience.” Celebrities can also help “get your message across” at corporate events, the website notes.
It then lists such “celebrities for hire” as the Beach Boys, Blink 182, Jethro Tull, Julio Iglesias, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sharon Stone, Jim Carrey, Sylvester Stalone (sic), Oscar De La Hoya, Jenny McCarthy, Donald Trump, Patrick Stewart “and many many more.”
It’s all about the public’s insatiable desire to be close to celebrities and big events, if you’ve got the money.
“It never goes out of style,” Doug Turner, owner of Millionaire’s Concierge, told HollywoodNews in a brief phone interview.
“I serve rich people all over the world,” he added, noting that he started his company 17 years ago.
The website includes a video segment that appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show which detailed how his company caters to its wealthy clients, like the time Turner said they dropped 50 dozen roses into a swimming pool from a helicopter for a client’s anniversary. The Oprah segment does not mention celebrities for hire.
A spokeswoman for Trump said that while the famed billionaire businessman may have met the owner of Millionaire’s Concierge years back in Florida, in any case, she has asked that Trump’s name be removed from the website.
“(Trump) has no affiliation with Millionaire’s Concierge and he does not do these kind of things,” she said. “He works with speaking engagement bureaus. Mr. Trump is one of the highest paid speakers in the world. These are legitimate organizations. He would never do this.”
HollywoodNews reached out to representatives of DiCaprio, Cyrus, Stone, Stallone and Carrey and have yet to hear back.
Millionaire’s Concierge also offers access to special Hollywood […]

Donald Trump not getting fired by Macy’s

HollywoodNews.com: A petition has been going around online to request that Donald Trump be fired as a spokesperson for Macy’s, but it seems that petition wasn’t enough.
A rep for Macy’s recently commented that nothing will be changing as the spokespeople have no influence on the company’s business practices, states UsMagazine.com. “Macy’s marketing and merchandise offerings are not representative of any political position. Many of the individuals associated with products sold at Macy’s — or at any retailer, for that matter — express personal opinions that are not related to the merchandise we sell or to the philosophies of our company,” a rep commented.
Trump was targeted by the petition as he was accused of bullying others in various situations as he has focused on women and President Obama.

Donald Trump comments on President Obama’s re-election

HollywoodNews.com: While many people in Hollywood and elsewhere are happy that President Obama was re-elected, Donald Trump is definitely not one of them.
Trump, who has been very outspoken with his dislike for the President, took to Twitter after the announcement to give his opinion, states RadarOnline. “Well, back to the drawing board! We can’t let this happen. We should march on Washington and stop this travesty. Our nation is totally divided … This election is a total sham and a travesty. We are not a democracy!” Trump commented.
“Hopefully the House of Representatives can hold our country together for four more years…stay strong and never give up! House of Representatives shouldn’t give anything to Obama unless he terminates Obamacare,” Trump added to his rant.
And others took notice of the extreme comments as ‘Modern Family’ creator Steve Levitan commented, “Hey Trump, did you see Mitt Romney’s concession speech? That’s what graciousness and good hair looks like.”

HollywoodNews.com: Donald Trump is often saying things that will get him in trouble, and his latest comment is no different as he is blaming Kate Middleton for the topless pictures that were taken and released.
Although Middleton was at a private residence when the photos were taken, Trump still thinks she is to blame for the invasion of privacy, states The Stir. “Kate Middleton is great – but she shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude – only herself to blame,” Trump posted on Twitter.
Trump went on to comment that she should know someone would want to take pictures like that of her in order to make money.
