Penn plays a retired 80s rocker who looks sort of like The Cure’s Robert Smith. He lives in an Irish castle with his idiosyncratic wife (Frances McDormand) and makes friends with a young woman who is played by Bono’s real life daughter. Penn talks in a high voice like Michael Jackson. Then it turns out his father, a Holocaust survivor, is dying in Brooklyn. So he goes to Brooklyn, where everyone is Orthodox and davenning (praying). He decides to go on a Nazi hunt and find the man who tortured his father in the camps–the man lives out west. Along the way, because he drives– looking like Robert Smith meets Ozzy Osbourne–he runs into David Byrne, who puts on an electrifying performance of his Talking Heads song, “This Must Be The Place.”

For some reason, TWC wants to be in business with Madonna and with Sean Penn. Is it 1992? What’s next, a remake of “Shanghai Surprise”? I don’t know what people will make of this movie, which we saw at Cannes. Maybe there’s a Holocaust-Talking Heads-Ozzy Osbourne demographic.

HollywoodNews.com: It’s not like Nick and Toni’s, the premiere eatery in East Hampton, doesn’t host a lot of celebrities. But on Friday night it was rockin’–literally. First came Ron Delsener, world famous concert promoter, and his wife Ellin, who runs Event Associates. They were waiting for someone, but it was unclear who.

Then who arrives? None other than Paul McCartney with fiancee Nancy Shevell. McCartney, introduced to the Hamptons by late wife Linda’s family, the Eastmans, has a compound of his own in Amagansett. Paul and Nancy stopped for a while to chat with the Delseners, greeted others in the restaurant’s front room, and then took a table in the cozy back area.

Soon after, the Delseners welcomed Pink Floyd composer Roger Waters and his longtime girlfriend Laurie Durning. Within an hour, McCartney and Shevell–having finished a short veggie meal–were back. And then the ex Beatle and the ex Floyd were in heavy confab. Was it sort of mindblowing to see the two men behind the two most famous rock albums of all time–”Sgt. Pepper” and “Dark Side of the Moon”–just chatting away? You betcha. I ordered an extra coffee just so I could stay at my perch!

HollywoodNews.com: Wow–sooo exciting. The minute I read on the Hollywood Reporter website that Paul McCartney’s new classical album was coming out on Decca Records, I called over there to congratulate them.

After all, THR says the Beatles were turned down by Decca some 50 years ago. Alas, tisn’t true. Sorry THR! From Decca: “Paul McCartney is signed to Concord Records. We believe he asked to have the album released internationally on the Decca label.” Yes, indeed. Paul is sure enough signed to Concord. And Concord licensed the classical recording, “Ocean’s Kingdom,” to Decca in the United Kingdom. Whoops! Not exactly the stunning history making m0ment as advertised in THR.

So much for “breaking news.” McCartney will debut the “Ocean’s Kingdom” music on September 22nd in New York at the New York City Ballet. It wouldn’t surprise me if some of this music makes it into the animated film McCartney is writing for the adaptation of his children’s book into a film for Michael Lynne and Bob Shaye under their Unique Films banner. I told you about that film exclusively back in mid July.

HollywoodNews.com: Mick Jagger–this column was FIRST to report that he was planning a new album without the Rolling Stones. His supergroup, called SuperHeavy, debuts its first video tomorrow on Vevo.com with a song called “Miracle Worker.”

The album hits us on September 20th. All five members of the gang get writing credit on every song–Jagger, Damian Marley, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart, and composer A.R. Rahman. Will it be good? Who knows? And what about the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary in 2012? Jagger must be really be angry with Keith Richards over his book. Anyway, here are the song titles. And some pictures. Williams, 36, said he never made the comment but it was his management that told her she wasn’t to go any further than a professional relationship with him.

Speaking to Glamour magazine about a photo from 1998, he said: “That’s Gina, my long-suffering make-up artist. She got the job because she refused to sleep with me. I didn’t ask her, but the management were like: ‘You can’t sleep with him – promise.’ I’ve got a canny management who could see a possible pattern emerging. [She said] ‘Yeah, promise.’ And she’s worked with me ever since.”

Williams wed actress Ayda Field in front of about 75 guests during a ceremony that took about thirty minutes, reports People. Williams’ father, Pete Conway, was pleased to comment that “Rob is happy.”

Directly after the ceremony, guests were able to enjoy a sunset cocktail reception with champagne and gourmet hors d’oeuvres. The event concluded with a sit-down dinner and dancing.

HollywoodNews.com: Cheryl Cole has invited pal Derek Hough to move into her multi-million pound Surrey mansion according to reports.

Hough, a dancer, is said to be planning on relocating from the US to Britain, and the former ‘Girls Aloud’ singer has reputedly offered him a roof over his head while he house-hunts.

“Derek has been flooded with offers to work in the UK. Cheryl is thrilled for him and glad that all the interest means he will be spending a lot more time on these shores,” a source said, The Sun reports.

“She’s more than happy to have him move in. She is on her way back to full strength now and is looking forward to having a pal round to keep her company,” the source commented.

“Derek is looking for somewhere of his own in west London. But before he finds a new home, he’s glad to shack up with Cheryl.”

27-year-old Cole is at home recovering from a bout of malaria. ‘The X Factor’ star is said to have picked up the tropical disease while travelling in Tanzania with Hough earlier this month.

HollywoodNews.com: Singer Robbie Williams has signed up to appear in a new computer game that will feature 25 of his songs.

The 36-year-old performer, who recently announced he is to reunite with old band Take That, will appear in the video game, ‘We Sing Robbie Williams,’ which will be released on October 11.

The game launches at the same time as his new compilation album, ‘In And Out Of Consciousness: The Greatest Hits 1990-2010.’

Williams’ tracks such as Angels, Rock DJ, She’s The One and Let Me Entertain You will all be included and will be accompanied by his original music videos.

The game is being put together by Nordic Games in collaboration with EMI.

Nordic Games‘ Sales and Marketing Director, Nik Blower, said on their website: “After 20 years in the business, Robbie’s fan base covers practically every age group, and both genders – that represents a massive percentage of the population who will want to play the ‘We Sing’ version of the game.”

HollywoodNews.com: ‘Bodies’ singer Robbie Williams and his band Take That have been seen filming their new music video.

Robbie, 36, has rejoined the group after he quit 15 years ago. Williams and bandmates Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald reportedly filmed the video for their new single ‘The Flood’ in two days.

In the video, the boys are seen in a rowing boat on a lake. An onlooker told British newspaper The Sun: “They were having a great time, it was just five friends having a laugh. “Robbie and the boys clearly got on very well. It was just like old times. They were mucking about and having fun.”

The source added: “When they finished filming on the first day Robbie decided he needed to cool off so he jumped straight into the lake and had a little swim. “No one else had the guts to join him – it was freezing!”
