Megan Fox can’t stand having her photo taken

HollywoodNews.com: Considering the industry she is in, it’s likely a bit problematic that Megan Fox can’t stand having her photo taken.
Fox recently opened up to France’s ‘Jalouse’ magazine about not being a fan of photo shoots so much that she doesn’t even look at the pictures, states UsMagazine.com. “I hate taking pictures. I never look at them, otherwise I would have to change everything,” Fox admitted.
Luckily, she always relies on the photographer to do the work: “I prefer not to see any and trust the photographer, who knows his job.”

Megan Fox doesn’t get to watch ‘Beverly Hills, 90210′

HollywoodNews.com: You would think Megan Fox would have watched ‘Beverly Hills, 90210′ at some time in her life as her husband, Brian Austin Green, was on it, but that is apparently not the case.
Green recently revealed that she isn’t allowed to watch the show because of a rule the two have in their relationship, states UsMagazine.com. “We have a rule: We don’t watch each other’s stuff,” Green revealed.
But that hasn’t stopped Fox from trying to watch little bits here and there: “She tries to sneak them on SOAPnet, and then she gets in trouble for it.”

Fox Searchlight Pictures Buys “The Surrogate”

HollywoodNews.com: Fox Searchlight Pictures Presidents Nancy Utley and Stephen Gilula announced today that the company has acquired worldwide rights to the inspirational true story THE SURROGATE. Directed and written by Ben Lewin, THE SURROGATE stars John Hawkes as Mark O’Brien, Helen Hunt as Cheryl Cohen Greene and William H. Macy as Father Brendan. The film was produced by Judi Levine of Suchmuch Films and Stephen Nemeth of Rhino Films and is scheduled to be released in 2012.
?Ben Lewin has created a touching, uplifting look at one man?s desire to experience life to the fullest. The brave and indelible performances by John Hawkes, Helen Hunt and William H. Macy left us floored,? said Gilula and Utley.
?We’re very happy to have found a home at Fox Searchlight for this film,? said director Ben Lewin. ?We have worked hard to evoke the spirit of Mark O’Brien and his writing, and feel that the Searchlight team can help bring his unique and touching story to as wide of an audience as possible.?
?We look forward to working with Searchlight to broaden the conversation of topics that were once considered taboo and that represent what’s going on in society in a much more open way,? said Levine.
?Their work on films as diverse as ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ show their resources and passion can translate emotionally compelling material to a mainstream audience,? added producer Nemeth.
Based on the poignantly optimistic autobiographical writings of California?based journalist and poet Mark O?Brien, THE SURROGATE tells the story of a man confined to an iron lung who is determined – at age 38 – to lose his virginity. With the help of his therapists and the guidance of his priest, he sets out to make his dream a reality.
The deal was brokered by Fox Searchlight?s Executive Vice President of Worldwide Acquisitions Tony Safford, Senior Vice President of Business Affairs Megan O?Brien and Vice President of Acquisitions & Co-Productions Ray Strache with CAA and attorney Craig Emanuel on behalf of the filmmakers.
Fox Searchlight Pictures is a specialty film company that both finances and acquires motion pictures. It has its own marketing and distribution operations, and its films are distributed internationally by Twentieth Century Fox. Fox Searchlight Pictures is a unit of Fox Filmed Entertainment, a unit of Fox Entertainment Group.

“The Simpsons” producers agree to pay cuts, sources say

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Have “The Simpsons” been spared?
While contract negotiations with voice talent threatened to end the animated program after a staggering 23 seasons, it’s now being reported that multiple top-level producers “have agreed to take pay cuts” to help keep the show on the air.
“Some — though not all — of the producers of the Fox series have indicated they’re willing to have their pay reduced to continue the series beyond its current record-setting 23rd season,” EW.com reports. “The cast, however, have yet to agree to terms with the studio.”
http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/10/05/simpsons-pay-cuts/
20th Century Fox TV was looking for a 45 percent pay cut from the talent, without which the show literally could not go on. The voice actors reportedly countered with a proposal that would amount to a 30 percent reduction in salary, but would include a bigger piece of the back end. That proposal was rejected by the studio.
As EW.com says, though, all sides “strongly believe a deal will be reached,” so now it’s just a matter of when.

“Glee” ratings down 30 percent

HollywoodNews.com: Quick! Bring back Chord Overstreet!
Of course, the absence of the cute trout-mouthed blond can’t be the reason why the season three premiere episode of Glee had a whopping 32 percent fewer viewers than last season’s season premiere.
But something is up.
First, the Glee 3-D movie completely bombed at the box office this summer and now just 8.9 million viewers tuned in Tuesday night for the first new episode since last May.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that it’s a surprising dip for a series that became an overnight phenomenon two years ago and has since generated millions of iTunes downloads and spawned a concert tour, a 3D movie and a reality spinoff (Oxygen’s The Glee Project).
“A lackluster storyline last season may have played a part [in the premiere ratings],” Brad Adgate, senior vp research at Horizon Media told THR. “The summer concerts, rumors about cast changes, the downloads, the Oxygen reality series. Perhaps the franchise has spread itself too thin in an attempt to make ancillary [revenue].”
It’s clear that hardcore Gleeks like me are still devoted but the challenge for the show’s producers and the network will be to regain the interest of the casual viewer.
Time will tell.
