HollywoodNews.com: ‘Jersey Shore’ star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is about to be 23 and she is celebrating the new age with some safe sex.
Snooki’s birthday party at New York’s Pacha will be sponsored by LifeStyles condoms, states PopEater. Snooki apparently wants to encourage people to have safe sex if they are choosing to have sex.
It is reported that a number of liquor companies offered to sponsor the event, but she turned them down in an effort to clean up her image a bit.
What do you think about Snooki’s choice of sponsor?

Lindsay Lohan gets money offer from PETA
HollywoodNews.com: Lindsay Lohan has openly admitted that she may not be able to afford her bill at the Betty Ford Center, but now she is getting plenty of offers that could help her make some money.
The latest financial offer comes from PETA, stating that they will give her $20,000 to become a vegan, reports PopEater. Michelle Cho, the head of PETA, reportedly gave the offer to Lindsay because it might even help in her recovery as she gets healthy again.
However, if she only sticks with a vegan diet during her rehab stint, she will be given a smaller amount of $10,000. The $20,000 only comes if she follows the strict diet for a year.
Do you think Lindsay should go vegan to raise some money?

‘Jersey Shore’ star Snooki being offered diet promotion
HollywoodNews.com: After being portrayed in a less than flattering way on ‘South Park,’ Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is being offered a deal by a weight loss company, but it might not be such a good idea.
AcaiSupply.com reportedly saw the episode and thought that it was mocking the ‘Jersey Shore’ star’s weight problems so they decided to offer her a cut of the profits and a free year’s supply if she uses it and gives a testimonial to its success, states TMZ.
However, Snooki has previously admitted to having body issues and even suffered from anorexia at one point. Taking part in a diet plan doesn’t seem like the best idea for her as she continues to recover.
And anyway, Snooki has not been shy about feeling fabulous with her current figure.

Jane Kaczmarek discusses her recent personal turmoil
By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith
HollywoodNews.com: Making Lifetime’s “Reviving Ophelia” movie that airs Monday (10/11) came as a much-appreciated lift for Jane Kaczmarek. The actress, who reigned for seven years as authoritarian mom Lois on “Malcolm in the Middle” — and for 17 as half of one of Hollywood’s favorite couples with ex-husband Bradley Whitford — admits, “It was a tough year. My husband filed for divorce. It was a very sad year.”
Many in the industry thought of the Whitfords as a great couple. “So did I,” she says. “I never thought I’d be single again.”
The divorce came in tandem with the disappointing cancellation of Steven Bochco’s ”Raising the Bar,” in which she played a judge, after two seasons.
“Reviving Ophelia” represents “the first time I’ve worked since all of this happened. My manager liked the idea of getting me in front of a camera again, reminding me when I was good at something,” says Jane candidly.
Drawn from psychotherapist Mary Pipher’s seminal books about the pressures and expectations facing young females in our “girl-poisoning” contemporary society, the movie centers on a high school girl’s (Rebecca Williams) relationship with an abusive boyfriend. Kaczmarek is the mother in denial.
These days, Jane is bouncing back. She’s dating. She continues to flex her acting muscles with North Hollywood’s Antaeus theater group (she opens in Lillian Hellman’s “The Autumn Garden” later this month). She says a half-hour comedy would be a dream, but she’s not open to the kind of series schedule in which 12-hour days are the norm.
Jane’s children are now 12, 10 and seven years old, and she says, “I don’t like to leave them. Being a mother has really become my – I really like it. I’m older – 54. Having kids this late, I waited so long to have them, and then when they were really little, I was working on ‘Malcolm’ – a great time on a great show. But now, I really love being home with my kids in the middle of the day, cooking with them, getting a real good look at what women who aren’t in show business do.”

‘Jersey Shore’ star Snooki talks about past health problems
HollywoodNews.com: ‘Jersey Shore’ star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi seems to be pretty happy with herself these days, but that wasn’t always the case as she is now opening up about the body image problems she dealt with when she was younger.
Snooki has revealed in ‘Ok!’ magazine that she did go through a time when she was anorexic, “eating a cracker a day,” reports Hollyscoop. The reality TV star went through this eating disorder in part because she felt self-conscious on the cheerleading squad.
While she was afraid of younger, freshmen girls coming in and taking her spot, she eventually forced herself to get down to 80 pounds on her 4-foot, 9-inch frame.
Now, Snooki has a more positive outlook and is accepting of her body.

Lady Gaga explains why she wore a meat dress at the VMAs
HollywoodNews.com: Lady Gaga first stirred some controversy when she appeared on the cover of ‘Vogue Hommes Japan’ covered in meat, but now she has brought that cover to life.
Gaga accepted her final VMA in a meat dress, but is trying to explain that it isn’t as questionable as some may think, reports Just Jared. “[I]f we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon, we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on own bones,” Gaga said as she revealed that she is not quite ready to be a piece of meat.
One thing she did want to clear up about the outfit was that it was not intended to offend vegans or vegetarians: “I am the most judgement-free human being on the earth.”

Jamie Oliver using his Emmy Award as a kitchen utensil
HollywoodNews.com: Jamie Oliver has revealed that he has found a new use for his Emmy Award – as a kitchen utensil.
The Naked Chef posted a hilarious video on his website showing him chopping vegetables and crushing garlic with the trophy. He also transformed it into a makeshift fruit bowl by balancing apples and tomatoes on top.
“I never thought I’d get one of these. It’s going to go to really good use. I’m going to use it in all of my cooking shows,” he joked.
“I think what’s nice about it is it’s above and beyond a fruit bowl. It looks good, it’s contemporary, you can sit it on a table, you can put a candle in it. It’s just great.”
Oliver, 35, topped the Outstanding Reality Program category at the Emmy Awards for his TV series ‘Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.’
The show saw the British cook trying to introduce healthy eating and curb obesity in Huntington, West Virginia – statistically one of the unhealthiest cities in the United States.
But as well as describing the win as a “beautiful pat on the back”, Oliver said he had found a practical use for his Emmy. “I’ve got this beautiful new kitchen gadget – it’s brilliant,” he said, using the award to chop vegetables on the kitchen counter.
ABC will be screening a second series of ‘Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution’ later this season, in which the celebrity chef will tackle the obesity problems in Los Angeles.

Celebrities undergoing diets to get red carpet ready
By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith
HollywoodNews.com: With the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards coming up Sunday (Aug. 29), you’d better believe the dieting and working out in Tinsel Town has reached a fever pitch as stars get red carpet ready, and everyone else strives to pass muster on one of the glamour nights of the year.
“Modern Family’s” sexy Sofia Vergara admitted she’s been trying to be good about what she eats, so she can look her shapely best. Her approach – carrying lollipops in her handbag so “instead of a tiramisu, I can have a boring lollipop” – could launch a trend. Sadly, lollipops that can make one look like Sofia Vergara exist only in our dreams.
That’s good for a smile, but other “diet like celebrities” ideas out there are taken quite seriously – sometimes for the worse. As a number of Hollywood stars can attest, rash super diets can have long-lasting negative effects on one’s health
The “Master Cleanse” diet — also called the “Lemonade” or “Maple Sugar” diet — highly-touted awhile back for helping Beyonce shed 20 pounds, is actually more than 60 years old. Howard Stern sidekick Robin Quivers, who went vegan a couple of years back, lost some 70 pounds on the cleanse regime, in which followers chug a concoction of fresh lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and water for a minimum of 10 days. But doctors warn of the method, noting that fasting for a few days is fine, but extended fasting can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. Electrolyte imbalance can affect the heart and other major organ functions.
The same goes for extreme low carb/low calorie dieting. According to the American Heart Association, such quick-fix regimes leave out vital vitamins and minerals, may be high in fat and can increase the risk of heart disease.
And they don’t lead to sustained weight loss.
Tales of stars and models using laxatives for fast weight loss are also common — but medical experts say that such practices are actually ineffective, and can cause abdominal pain, dangerously low potassium levels in the blood, and lasting damage to the large intestine. Low potassium levels can cause cardiac arrhythmia — irregular heat beat, which can be life-threatening.

Secrets of Celebrity Fitness – Five simple steps to look like Katy Perry
By Dr. Bradley Frederick
HollywoodNews.com: Katy Perry is known for her outrageous outfits, rising pop singles, and lately, her newly fit figure. Perry’s wedding to comedian Russell Brand is just a few months away, and the singer has not been wasting any time getting her body into amazing shape.
Celebrities are notorious for whipping their bodies into shape in the blink of an eye. What are their secrets? I have put together an easy five-step program that will help anyone shed unwanted pounds and look as good as any celebrity.
Secret One. Find an activity that you like and do it for at least 25 minutes, five times a week. Perry says, “I hate working out, but I love jumping rope. There’s a rhythm. It’s like dancing.” Actress, Katherine Heigl also loves to jump rope. Jumping rope may not be for everyone, but it’s easy to stay motivated when you like what you’re doing. Pop superstar Usher starts his workouts with 20 minutes of meditating, and then 30 minutes of static stretching. Flexibility of the mind and body are keys to a long and healthy life, so Usher is doing something that will not only keep him fit, but keep him grounded and happy. If you find something you enjoy, you’ll be more likely to stick to it and get the results you want.
Secret Two. Replace sweet drinks and diet drinks with water… lots of water. Your body is two-thirds water and you should try to replenish it daily to keep yourself alkaline. I tell all my patients to drink at least 2/3 ounces of water per body pound. This helps keep your metabolism up, is the best detox anyone can do, and also helps to reduce body pains. Stress, food additives and preservatives are toxic to your body and lead to acidity. Acidity is very detrimental to all your body functions, including your immune system. If you don’t like water alone, try adding some lemon or drinking coconut water. Coconut water is loaded with electrolytes and minerals, has about 16 total calories, and is fat-free. In fact, one cup of coconut water contains more electrolytes than most sports drinks and more potassium than a banana. There are many benefits to drinking water, but I do have one warning: do not drink more than 3/4 oz of water per body pound because it can dilute your electrolytes.
Secret Three. Eat at least five times [...]
