Rupert Sanders’ wife writes suspicious blog

HollywoodNews.com: It sounds like Rupert sanders and his wife, Liberty Ross, might not be completely working things out as she wrote a blog that seems to be saying a lot.
Ross has been blogging for ‘Vogue UK,’ but has taken a break until her recent return, states RadarOnline. It is reported that Ross just posted an eagle soaring through the air which many assumed implied freedom.
“Free as a bird? Good luck to you Liberty,” one commenter wrote.
It has been rumored that Ross wants to make her marriage with Sanders work, but it does seem to be a struggle.
Do you think they will work it out?

‘Jersey Shore’s’ Snooki and JWOWW find a new home

HollywoodNews.com: It looks like ‘Jersey Shore’ stars Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWOWW” Farley can start filming the second season of their spin-off now that they have found a new home.
It is reported that producers were having trouble finding a city that wanted them. However, it looks like they are still welcome in Manchester, New Jersey, states TMZ.
Production is reportedly already setting up in order to get things going before Snooki has her baby.
However, neighbors in the area are allegedly not so happy with this. They reportedly didn’t know the show was coming there until they saw crews getting things ready. Now, the neighbors are allegedly worried the girls will disrupt their quiet town.
Do you think they’ll be difficult for the town?

Kristen Stewart: Why is “On the Road” opening everywhere but the U.S.A.?

HollywoodNews.com: By the time the film version of the quintessential American novel, “On the Road,” opens in America, it will be the movie’s very last stop. The Walter Salles directed adaptation of the famed Jack Kerouac classic has already opened in four countries. It will open in two dozen more before it finally hits American theaters on December 21, 2012. A movie about being lost in America is lost in distribution.
Indeed, “On the Road” is so screwed up at this point that it had its UK premiere in London three days ago. But it doesn’t actually open there until October 12th. Neither of its big stars–Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund–even showed up for that premiere. It’s not clear what the point was at all.
The movie had its worldwide debut back in May at the Cannes Film Festival. Critics were lukewarm. Rottentomatoes.com has given it a 40% score, with pretty much everyone checking in. In the four countries where it has played to audiences, “On the Road” has a total box office of just over $4.2 million.
Now it will roll out in spurts around the world. In early September, “On the Road” will get a premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. It almost seems like an afterthought since it won’t be released in the U.S. for three more months. There’s no momentum whatsoever marketing wise.
What a shame. “On the Road” was published in 1957. The saga of its journey to film is a long, storied one. Francis Ford Coppola tried to do in the 1990s. Casts came and went. Salles, a very good director, made such a success of “The Motorcycle Diaries,” that he seemed like a good choice. But something went wrong in the translation.
“On the Road” also now comes with a little unwanted baggage. Kristen Stewart, who’s a minor part of the film, has been played up as one its stars. But this summer she earned a scarlet “A” for her affair with the married director of her “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Rarher than be stoned in public, Stewart skipped the throwaway UK premiere. Her level of promo participation in the future is unknown.

50th New York Film Festival announces film slate

HollywoodNews.com: After a little bit of pondering on my part, the question of what will be playing this year at the New York Film Festival has now been answered. 32 films will comprise the main section of the fest, according to the NYFF website (here), and besides the movies already known about, we’ll also be seeing ‘Amour’, ‘Frances’, ‘Holy Motors’, ‘Hyde Park on Hudson’, and ‘Passion’ represent some of the most notable entries. After the jump you can see the full lineup, but it’s looking like a really stellar film festival (I’m especially interested in that new flick from Noah Baumbach).
Amour (Michael Haneke, Austria/France/Germany)
Michael Haneke’s Palme d’Or winner of Cannes 2012 is a merciless and compassionate masterpiece about an elderly couple dealing with the ravages of old age. A Sony Pictures Classics release.
Araf—Somewhere In Between (Yeşim Ustaoğlu, Turkey/France/Germany)
Director Yesim Ustaoglu depicts with empathy and uncompromising honesty the fate of a teenaged girl when she becomes sexually obsessed with a long-distance trucker and the promise of freedom that he embodies.
Barabara (Christian Petzold, Germany)

Beyond the Hills/După dealuri (Cristian Mungiu, Romania)
4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days director Cristian Mungiu returns with a harrowing, visually stunning drama set in a remote Romanian monastery. Winner, Best Actress and Best Screenplay, 2012 Cannes Film Festival. A Sundance Selects release.
Bwakaw (Jun Robles Lana, The Philippines)
A moving and funny surprise from the Philippines starring the great Eddie Garcia—and a truly unforgettable dog—in the story of an elderly loner going where he’s never dared venture before.
Camille Rewinds/Camille Redouble (Noémie Lvovsky, France)
Noemie Lvovsky directs and stars in an ebullient comedy of remarriage that gives Francis Ford Coppola’s Peggy Sue Got Married a sophisticated, personal, and decidedly French twist.
Caesar Must Die/Cesare deve morire (Paolo Taviani, Vittorio Taviani, Italy)
Convicted felons stage a production of Julius Caesar in this surprising new triumph for the Taviani Brothers, winner of the Golden Bear at this year’s Berlin Film Festival. An Adopt Films release.
The Dead Man and Being Happy/El muerto y ser feliz (Javier Rebollo, Spain/Argentina)
A dying hitman and a mysterious femme fatale set off on an oddball journey through Argentina’s interior in this playful and unexpectedly moving reverie on love, death and the open road.
Fill the Void/Lemale et ha’chalal (Rama Burshtein, Israel)
With her first [...]

Denzel Washington’s “Flight” closing this year’s New York Film Festival – ANALYSIS

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Months ago, when Paramount teased the first official trailer for Robert Zemeckis’ “Flight,” the director’s return to live-action for the first time since “Cast Away” struck us as a riveting exploration of a human pilots potential faults in the midst of crisis. The movie looked like it would boast eye-popping aerial effects, and Washington would deliver the anticipated level of gut-punching bravado we’ve come to expect from him over the years.
It didn’t necessarily look awards worthy, though Zemeckis certainly has found himself in Oscar’s cat-bird seat more than once (going so far as to win Best Director for “Forrest Gump” back in 1995).
Yet as is annually the case, decisions are made that help the overall Oscar picture grow a little more clear with each passing day. And today, the New York Film Festival announced that Zemeckis’ “Flight” will close this year’s festival with a world premiere on Oct. 14.
Now we’re sitting up and paying closer attention.
Lats year, NYFF closed with a major Oscar player: Alexander Payne’s “The Descendants,” which had trotted through Telluride and Toronto before landing in Manhattan with a cache of awards buzz. Perhaps this year, NYFF wanted a world premiere all of its own? And maybe Paramount knows that it has something special, and is choosing to make a very noticeable splash by closing NYFF … with all of the Oscar press watching?
Here’s the “Flight” trailer, which is impressive and nerve-wracking … and possibly awards worthy. You make the call.
