‘America’s Got Talent’ searching for Sharon Osbourne replacement

HollywoodNews.com: Sharon Osbourne revealed last season that she would be leaving her spot as a judge on ‘America’s Got Talent.’
Now, the show is reportedly searching for her replacement and has focused in on three different women, states TMZ. The show executives are reportedly considering Shannen Doherty, Carly Simon and LeAnn Rimes.
And considering Howie Mandel and Howard Stern do not yet have contracts for next season, there may be more new judges on the panel.
NBC has spoken out and commented that this list does not exist.

Howard Stern gets ‘America’s Got Talent’ gig

HollywoodNews.com: Howard Stern will soon be taking on a very new role as he has landed a spot as a judge on ‘America’s Got Talent.’
Stern will be replacing Piers Morgan on the show after he decided to leave, states TMZ. Producers reportedly wanted Stern so badly that they did everything they could to get him despite the Parents Television Council thinking he was an inappropriate choice.
Now, the show will reportedly be moving to New York to work with the rest of Stern’s commitments.
Howie Mandel has already commented about how excited he is for the change: “I couldn’t be happier. As my Mom always says, you can never have enough Howies.”

“America’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan beats Ryan Seacrest for Larry King job

By Kim Palacios
HollywoodNews.com: It seems that Britain’s got talent–or at least that’s what CNN thinks, having chosen U.K.-born media veteran Piers Morgan to replace Larry King. The New York Post posits that Morgan even beat out mega-host Ryan Seacrest for the job in a 3-year deal worth an estimated $18 million.
Morgan was relatively unknown to U.S. audiences prior to his appearance on Donald Trump’s first “Celebrity Apprentice”. After prevailing as the winner, he has remained on American radar through his position alongside judges Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel on “America’s Got Talent”.
Yet, many are wondering: does Morgan have talent? In the U.S., people know him based on his celebrity only, and are less aware of his credentials as former editor of two British tabloids, News of the World and The Daily Mirror; prior to his editorial appointment to News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, Morgan spent four years writing a show business column for The Sun. He began his television career as a judge on “Britain’s Got Talent” and did some hosting gigs with the BBC. Morgan studied journalism at Harlan College, and wrote for local papers prior to being discovered.
Though Morgan is more credentialed than people think, it has not escaped notice that contenders for CNN’s 9PM Larry King slot were unlikely bedfellows. Katie Couric turned down the job, yet her decades-long career in news journalism seems misaligned with the shorter careers and entertainment focus of both Morgan and Seacrest.
