Tori Spelling recovering from surgery due to complication from birth

HollywoodNews.com: Tori Spelling recently gave birth to her fourth child, and it seems it was definitely the most difficult one as she ended up needing emergency surgery this weekend to fix a complication from the recent birth.
Spelling reportedly had a C-section for her fourth child, and the surgery was allegedly related to that, states TMZ. She is allegedly still in the hospital recovering from the surgery.
She has previously been hospitalized after her child’s birth as she suffered migraines and postpartum complications after having her third child.
Her rep did confirm that she is now resting in the hospital.

Katie Holmes, Tom Cruise divorce allegedly pays her nothing

HollywoodNews.com: It looks like Katie Holmes really wasn’t interested in Tom Cruise’s money because her divorce settlement with him resulted in nothing for her.
Katie allegedly received no lump sum payment or spousal support, although she will receive some child support for their daughter, Suri, states TMZ. He will allegedly be paying Katie $400,000 per year in child support.
The child support payments will continue until she is 18 years old. Tom will also have to pay other expenses such as medical and education costs.
Also in the agreement, it is reportedly noted that Suri will not attend a “residential school” from now until high school which means no form of boarding school.
What do you think about their settlement?

‘Jersey Shore’s’ Snooki’s parenting dissed by ‘Teen Mom’

HollywoodNews.com: ‘Jersey Shore’ star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is definitely a little out there when it comes to things she will say, but one ‘Teen Mom’ thinks that she has shown what a bad parent she will be.
‘Teen Mom’ Jenelle Evans recently went after Snooki over Twitter after the pint-size reality star was accused of talking about not wanting to change her son’s diapers, states UsMagazine.com. “OMG no offense… but you call ME a bad mother… but look what @snooki said about her baby… thats straight F–KED UP,” Evans commented on Twitter.
The quote she was referencing was, “There is no way I’m changing any diapers when my baby is born. That is disgusting. That’s what maids are for and babysitters. I don’t have time for that. I’ll have them do that stuff. I’ll be there for the good parts, like dressing my son up and making sure he got style. You don’t have to cook or clean or change diapers to be a good mother. My son will have everything he wants. He’s going to be a little star like his mommy.”
However, Snooki confirmed rumors about the quote being false: “FYI, I can’t wait to change my kid’s sh—y diapers & I don’t even believe in maids. Just saying.”
Who do you think will be the better mom?

‘House of Lies’ Not Being Treated Like a ‘Black Show’ Says Glynn Turman

By Beck/Smith
HollywoodNews.com: Don Cheadle’s “House of Lies” has already been picked up for its second season, and costar Glynn Turman is quick to applaud Showtime for its support of the series that has Cheadle as a slick, smart, ruthless and debauched management consultant for greedy Wall Street giants.
“They’re so behind it, pumping and putting it out there,” he notes. This being Black History Month, Turman looks at “House of Lies” through the lens of race. In his opinion, “It’s not being treated like a ‘black show.’ If there is a show with a black lead, it’s not usually given the push that other shows are given. But with this show, the wheels that make things a success are really spinning.”
Turman has a permanent place in black cinema history, thanks to his role in the classic 1975 “Cooley High.” He’s observed changes in film and TV with regard to African Americans since then, and he’s observed slips backward. The day of the African American network comedy, for example, has pretty much gone away.
The bitingly satirical “House of Lies” — which is, in case you didn’t know, a very wild Showtime show full of sex, drugs and profanity — is in a category unto itself.
Turman, who plays Cheadle’s retired shrink dad, feels the show, “does a wonderful job in presenting Don and his family, me included, as human beings. The issues we see him struggling with have less to do with him being black than him being human. That’s one of the things that’s so refreshing about it. The color issue is so secondary to his relationships with his coworkers, his boss. His coworker is a beautiful young blond white girl,” he notes, referring to Kristen Bell. “His ex-wife (Dawn Olivieri) is a white woman….They’re not ignoring his color. When issues come up, they tackle the issues.”
Cheadle’s wily character is also not above playing the race card, if it’s to his advantage. As Turman notes, “This is a guy who says, ‘This can work for me. I can use this.’ I think that’s so timely.” Its occupation with Wall Street “hits right on the sore spot of the country. I think everybody’s still in shock after seeing it,” Turman adds with a laugh. “People are saying, ‘Can they do that?’”

“The Vow” and “Safe House” fend off “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance”

By Scott Mendelson
HollywoodNews.com: It was yet another ‘photo-finish’ at the box office over this President’s Day weekend, but as always, it’s the hard numbers rather than the arbitrary rankings that matter. But since we need to decide which movies to discuss first, in order we shall go! For the moment, it appears that Safe House will top the charts in its second weekend after barely missing the top slot last weekend. It grossed $23.9 million over the Fri-Sun weekend and $28 million over the holiday. Safe House will have grossed $82 million by Monday, a rather huge total for Mr. Washington. In just eleven days, Safe House is Washington’s 7th-biggest grosser, out-grossing such films as Training Day ($76 million), Man On Fire ($77 million), and Unstoppable ($81 million). Barring a complete collapse, Safe House should become Denzel Washington’s fifth $100 million grosser over the next weekend, with an outside shot of eclipsing the $130 million gross of American Gangster, which is currently his top grosser. While we can debate how much credit co-star Ryan Reynolds gets for this one (he certainly didn’t hurt…), Safe House is already his fourth-biggest grosser and will likely out-gross Green Lantern’s $116 million total in a few weeks. I’m frankly shocked at the strong legs for this one, as it’s certainly one of Washington’s worst genre entries in a long career with a number of solid adult-skewing action pictures (it looks like it was shot through a puke filter and edited in a blender, plus the script is so generic it could have been written in a Mad Libs book). Still, star-power is a rare thing these days, and Denzel Washington clearly has it.
So does Channing Tatum and, in the right project, Rachel McAdams, so it will be interesting to see how The Vow’s popularity affect next month’s 21 Jump Street. The Vow is estimated to gross around $23.6 million for the Fri-Sun period and $27.4 million for the Fri-Sun period. No matter who ends up on top, both films exhibited strong holds. With $89 million by Monday, The Vow is already Screen Gems’s highest grossing film ever, topping the $80 million total of Dear John. The 43% drop for The Vow is slightly smaller than the 47% drop for Dear John, but the new film was bolstered by a [...]

Vanessa Hudgens talks living in homeless shelter for two weeks

HollywoodNews.com: Vanessa Hudgens will play a pregnant, homeless teenager in the upcoming film ‘Gimme Shelter,’ and it seems she worked hard to get into the mind of the role.
Hudgens revealed to Rachael Ray that she chose to live in a homeless shelter for two weeks before filming began in order to identify with her character, states UsMagazine.com. “I lived there with all the girls, with all the kids, so I think that’s really interesting because you find so much more about yourself,” Hudgens commented.
Hudgens also chopped off much of her hair for the role, something she admits she did herself: “I did that to myself, yes I did.”
