Anberlin pushes up release date and unveils album cover art Anberlin has just announced a handful of updates that fans will be super stoked about.
The first is that their new album, “Dark Is The Way, Light Is A Place” will be released two weeks earlier on September 7th and their new single “Impossible” is officially on sale at iTunes and Amazon today. In addition, the band has just released the album cover art at Absolutepunk and Nate Young from the band has left a message:
What up! Nate Young from Anberlin – as you know we are gearing up for our new album release and we are so stoked for you to hear the whole thing. A few months back I stumbled upon an amazing Australian artist named, Michael Zavros. His work blew my mind, and we were able to use one of his pieces for our cover of our new album, Dark is the Way, Light is a Place. In my opinion, it’s some of the best artwork I’ve seen in years. Its a hand-drawn charcoal painting and just seem to fit perfectly with what we were feeling for these songs. We are so honored to be able to have it be apart of this album. Hope you all like it. We will also be announcing tour news very soon! Stay on the look out. See you all out on the road soon.

What do you think of the new album cover?

“Sucker Punch” trailer arrives online riding wave of Comic-Con buzz

By Sean O’Connell “Sucker Punch” was one of the films to emerge from San Diego’s Comic-Con with precious buzz. Footage screened for fans packed in Hall H received rave reviews, and earned a spot on our very own Todd Gilchrist’s list of the Top 5 Comic-Con moments. He called it “the most schizophrenically exciting footage the attendees would see all weekend.”
This morning, you can see what all of the hype is about. The first “Sucker Punch” trailer has been posted on the iTunes Movie Trailers page, and while it gives a great idea at what director Zack Snyder is going for, it holds back some of the footage screened at the Con. Exclusivity is still very important to Con attendees.
Still, this trailer sets up the story, which follows a young girl named Babydoll (Emily Browning) who is confined to a mental institution where she starts to dream of elaborate ways to escape.
Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino and Jamie Chung co-star alongside Emily Browning. Snyder will release “Sucker Punch” on March 25, 2011.

A pal tells U.K.’s The Sun: “She played nine holes and loved it, she had a natural swing. Amy wants to learn how to play properly.”
The Sun criticized, “It’s great news – but alongside trying to nail a hole in one, perhaps she could get into the swing and finish the rest of her next album…”
Winehouse’s new album is rumored to hit store shelves in December.

Daniel Radcliffe Offers Apology to Comic-Con Attendees In a statement that shows once again how classy the stars of the Harry Potter franchise are, Daniel Radcliffe offered an apology for his non-attendance at this past weekend’s Comic-Con, even though he was never scheduled to attend.
“I apologize to all the wishful thinkers for my disappointing non-presence,” he stated via telephone to the LA Times.
Media reports have been circulating stating that a large number of Harry Potter fans who attended Comic-Con were highly disappointed by the absence of Radcliffe and fellow co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, even though none of them were ever confirmed to attend the four-day event. In fact, Warner Bros. made certain they emphasized the fact that no cast would be present at the event, at least until Tom Felton was confirmed to attend a mere three days prior. This information seems to have been disregarded, as fans lined up almost 15 hours in advance hoping that one or all of the trio would make a surprise appearance. Maybe next time the motto “expect the worst, but hope for the best” should be kept in mind?

Harry Potter Fans Not Too Happy with Warner Bros. Harry Potter fans had a lot to be excited about this weekend, when Warner Bros. presented new footage of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at Comic-Con, the first time a Potter movie has ever been previewed at the four-day conference. Fans who were unable to attend the event were kept up to date via live updates from fan sites Mugglenet, The Leaky Cauldron and Snitchseeker, and anticipated seeing video of the footage, which we were all expecting would be released later on.
However, fans were informed a few hours later that Warner Bros. would not be releasing any of the new footage outside of Comic-Con, a decision that has left many fans feeling angry and jilted. Tweets like the following could be found online even today:

Retweet if u want to see the new Harry Potter and the deathly hallows footage from Comic Con! *ALL AGAINST WB!*
That’s so mean .. We want finally see new pics of #HarryPotterandtheDeathlyHallows !
Will you be releasing the Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows footage shown at Comic-Con on Saturday? PLEASE DO!!
Please, please, please! We want to see the Harry Potter footage shown at Comic Con!
Am I the only #harrypotter fan who feels slighted by WB’s decision not to release the Comic-Con footage? It feels like a slap in the face

One fan has even set up a Twitition – an online petition in which supporters can sign in to add their digital signature using their Twitter account – asking Warner Bros. to release the new footage online to fans.
I think the biggest question Potter fans have right now is why Warner Bros. made the decision not to release the footage. They have not responded to any inquiries about the decision (including my own) on their official Harry Potter Twitter account, @harrypotterfilm, nor has any other mention been made of the decision in the press.
This does seem like a slight towards the fans, who have been loyal to Warner Bros. and the films, even though the movies have sometimes failed to meet the expectations of the more purist of fans, who criticize the sometimes unnecessary changes that are made between canon (book) and screen. Still, because of the love of the story, fans have always supported the studio, the films and the actors who portray our beloved characters.
Not to make comparisons in the whole “which is better” debate, but my personal opinion […]
