Ryan Dunn hits #1 on IMDB StarMeter, posthumously

By Kim Palacios
hollywoodnews.com: It seems that Ryan Dunn was never so famous as he became upon his death. His untimely demise generated so much buzz about the “Jackass” star, that the IMDB StarMeter ranking currently lists Dunn at #1. In life, Dunn’s IMDB StarMeter rating topped out at #779. Dunn and Zachary Hartwell, a “Jackass 2” production assistant died when Dunn’s car hit a tree in Pennsylvania; both Dunn and Hartwell had been drinking.
Prior to his death, Dunn reached the height of his stardom in 2006 with the release of “Jackass 2”. In fact, Dunn’s star power declined between 2007 and 2010, rebounding briefly in late 2010 with the release of “Jackass 3-D.” In the days leading up to his death, Dunn’s StarMeter ranking hovered at #2,544; in early 2010, it bottomed out at #10,720.

Ryan Dunn allegedly had 11 drinks before accident

It is being rumored that he had the 11 drinks over a four-hour period, states TMZ. Eight drinks were allegedly bought at the bar by ‘Jackass’ star Dunn while he was possibly given three drinks from fans.

Roger Ebert addresses Ryan Dunn tweet: not meant to be cruel

HollywoodNews.com: Roger Ebert has been getting some heat for his tweet about ‘Jackass’ star Ryan Dunn’s car accident, but he wants to clear up his intention with the message.
Ebert recently commented that he wasn’t trying to be cruel when he posted the tweet about friends not letting “jackasses” drive drunk, states TMZ. While he admits he probably sent the message too soon after the accident, he was trying to be true and honest.
Ebert did offer his sympathy to Dunn’s friends and family while admitting that he based the drunk driving remark off what was being assumed about the accident.
However, Ebert also stood by his message: “I do know that nobody has any business driving on a public highway at 110 mph, as some estimated — or fast enough, anyway, to leave a highway and fly through 40 yards of trees before crashing. That is especially true if the driver has had three shots and three beers. Two people were killed. What if the car had crashed into another car?”

Bam Margera attacks Roger Ebert over Ryan Dunn Tweets

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Ryan Dunn’s “Jackass” co-stars are fighting back against Roger Ebert for the Tweet he posted shortly after Dunn died in what appears to have been a drunk driving accident.
Dunn died in a fiery wreck in Pennsylvania, just hours after Tweeting his own photos of drinking with friend. Though officials on the scene cite speed as being the cause of the accident, the photos prompted Ebert to Tweet, “Friends don’t let Jackasses drink and drive.”
But Dunn’s friend and fellow “Jackass” Bam Margera didn’t want to hear it.
“I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of shit roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents … About a jackass drunk driving and his is one, fuck you! Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat fucking mouth!” Margera Tweeted.
Now’s not the time for fighting. And Twitter is not the forum for such arguments. It’s unfortunate that Dunn’s death has triggered such angry responses. His family, and the family of the other unidentified person in the car, continue to be in our prayers.

‘Jackass 3.5′ coming to your computer in March 2011

HollywoodNews.com: Paramount Digital Entertainment in association with MTV, both part of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) announced today that it plans to add another original project to its popular digital programming line-up: “Jackass 3.5,” which will premiere in March 2011. The third installment of JACKASS from Paramount Pictures and MTV Films -Jackass 3D – hit theaters on October 15, 2010 and has already grossed over $155 million at the worldwide box office. The film stars Johnny Knoxville and the boys and was produced by Dickhouse Production’s Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze, along with Knoxville. Jackass 3.5, which was tailor-made for launch in digital media, will feature all new content, including never-before-seen stunts, pranks and other side-splitting antics by the JACKASS crew. New stunts and antics from “Jackass 3.5″ will be released online weekly and then packaged together as a feature length film distributed digitally followed by other platforms including home video.
“I don’t want to say that the JACKASS guys invented the Internet, but they were doing viral videos before most people had even heard the term. That distinguished heritage makes JACKASS the perfect franchise for digital,” said Thomas Lesinski, President of Paramount Digital Entertainment. “When the JACKASS guys went to make JACKASS 3D, we proposed that we shoot a follow up to the successful JACKASS 2.5 digital feature alongside it, and everyone was up for it. In JACKASS 3.5, you are going to see an entire movie’s worth of new stunts, new pranks and new gags, on whatever screen you choose.”
“For JACKASS 3D we shot enough footage for two movies so a lot of great stuff didn’t make it in the film. Luckily you will get to see those bits in 3.5. We also shot some additional footage in Europe specifically for 3.5. I have staples in my head right now to prove it. Woo hoo,” said JACKASS co-founder and star Johnny Knoxville.
“It’s been ten years since JACKASS first launched on MTV and there is still more poo, stunts and hilarity to go around on every screen imaginable,” said Van Toffler, President, MTVN Music/Logo/Films Group. “Whenever the JACKASS crew gets together, you know there will be a plethora of valuable fragments of entertainment to satiate their fans, and JACKASS 3.5 will not disappoint as the latest installment in this fine franchise.”

Will “Jackass 3.5″ be in theaters in a few months?

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: The hot topic during the recent “Jackass” publicity push wasn’t just the “3D” version that was headed to theaters, but also the additional footage director Jeff Tremaine left out.
During our interview, Bam Margera mentioned a few alternate stunts that didn’t make the final cut. Appearing on Sirius XM’s “Opie and Anthony Show,” Steve-O talked about physical abuse he suffered that was left on the cutting room floor. But he assured those listening that they’d get to see it in “Jackass 3.5,” the supplemental online feature that usually comes out a few months after a “Jackass” film makes its way through theaters.
Ah, but the prophetic Steve-O probably had no idea just how quickly that promise would become a reality … most likely because he could not have predicted how well “Jackass 3D” would do at the theaters on opening weekend.
As you know, “Jackass 3D” broke box office records with its $50 million opening. No surprise, Paramount now wants to figure a way to keep the interest burning, and so “Jackass 3.5” might not be heading to DVD by Christmas, as promised. It might be heading to theaters.
According to 24 Frames, the studio is contemplating taking all of the material held out of “Jackass 3D” and packaging it as a separate film. It would be incredibly quick turnaround for a “sequel,” though it makes a lot of sense from the studio’s standpoint. Johnny Knoxville claimed in the article that they “shot two movies’ worth of footage. We have so many bits that we never even turned in to Paramount because we were so swamped with ideas — funny stuff. The bits were just coming out of us left and right.”
And now they’ll likely be coming to a theater near you. What do you think? Would you pay to see another “Jackass” film in a few months? Or does absence make the heart grow fonder, and you need a few years to recuperate after seeing the guys catapulted through the air in a portable toilet? Let us know in the comments section below. Once we know what Paramount has decided, we’ll bring the news to you.

This Week In Movies – “Jackass 3D,” “Red,” “Conviction”

By Pete Hammond
HollywoodNews.com: Box office-wise this will probably be known as the week that clearly marked the decline of western civilization. With its near stunning $50 million gross Paramount’s scatological gross-out epic “Jackass 3D” exceeded expectations on about the same level as it managed to exceed any expectation of taste. The enthusiastic public reception to this third chapter in Johnny Knoxville and gang’s low brow exercise in vomit-inducing bodily pranks probably says more about what audiences crave than it does about the “filmmakers” who serve it all up in gut-blasting 3D. Want to see a dildo fly right into your face? This is the place. Want to watch a fat guy running on a treadmill wrapped in cellophane producing ‘sweat cocktails’ for adventurous drinkers? Line up now. Want to check out a hungry pig named Bob trying to extract an apple from the same fat guy’s rear end? Welcome to Knoxville’s own Fellini-esque vision of human debasement. It’s like watching The 3 Stooges on an acid trip, only there are 9 of these guys with names like Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Steve-O, Jason “Wee Man” Acuna, Preston Lacy, “Danger Ehren” McGhehey, Dave England and Chris Pontius whose self-induced torture of his male member (aided by a toy helicopter) deserves some sort of bravery medal. Some of it is undeniably funny but you’ll want to take a cold shower afterwards. Of course this kind of stuff is nothing new, it’s just more extreme. In the 60’s there were a series of shockumentaries such as Mondo Cane which promised such sights as people eating excrement etc. The difference now are 3D effects that allow the excrement to seem like it’s flying off the screen and into the theatre. You haven’t lived until you witness the outhouse bungi jump! Even with hiked prices for 3D the studio was taken by surprise by just how much of a craving moviegoers have for this kind of thing. Another “Jackass” is guaranteed and certain to go even further than this. These are the times we are living in.

The week’s other wide release also did quite well, if not even half the “Jackass” haul. “RED” could be dismissed as just another Bruce Willis action vehicle were it not for a supporting cast whose combined ages number into the several hundreds. This clever “geriaction” movie features the [...]
