Michael Jackson did not have any other kids

By Roger Friedman Contrary to nutty reports today–including one repeated on the site I created for Fox News in 1999– Michael Jackson had no other children besides the ones we know about, Prince, Paris, and Blanket.
Donte Williams Jackson, who lives in the Jackson family home, is generally considered to be the illegitimate offspring of Joseph Jackson. Joe has at least one other child not from his marriage to Katherine, JoVanni Jackson. She’s been acknowledged by Janet and lives in Las Vegas.
Donte might also be the son of Jermaine Jackson. But whoever he is, he is not the mystery child of Michael Jackson. Neither is Omer Bhatti, the sad Norwegian kid who Michael collected in 1996 in Tunisis when he was 12. Omer is the biological son of Riz and Pia Bhatti, who each worked for Jackson subsequently. Omer now cashes in on his Michael connection by doing shows as a Jackson imitator.

Jackson Kids Go to Hawaii with Cousins, Not Official Guardians

By Roger Friedman Michael Jackson’s kids–Prince, Paris, and Michael–are on a fun filled vacation in Hawaii.
However: they are not with their guardian, grandmother Katherine Jackson. She’s been busy in Indiana and in Beverly Hills commemorating the anniversary of Michael’s death.
So who’s with the kids? Their cousins, the sons of Tito Jackson, Taj and Taryll Jackson, and some bodyguards. Almost 37 and 35 years olld, the pair of cousins are fast becoming Michael’s kids surrogate dads, or big brothers. (Tito Jackson had his kids young–he’s only 56.)
The trip, which costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, is being paid for their father’s estate. And while no one begrudges the kids a vacation, it does raise the question in their custody: where are the adults?
The tabloids were so excited to get pictures of the kids, none of them stopped to ask what the heck was going on.

Not even nanny Grace Rwaramba is with them.

Mickey Rooney Serenades Michael Jackson Fans at Event, Corey Feldman Makes Speech

By Roger Friedman Mickey Rooney serenaded the Michael Jackson fans at the Beverly Hilton tonight. The 85 year old entertainer was a child movie star.
Corey Feldman made a speech.
Genevieve Jackson, Randy’s daughter, performed. But Randy Jackson has made proclamations denouncing the whole event tonight.
Whatever. There was also supposed to be a performance by Marshall Thompson, the remaining member of the R&B group The Chi-Lites. Thompson has become Joseph Jackson’s bucket boy, following him around and saying he’s got a record label with Jackson.
Both Katherine and Joseph Jackson showed up. Katherine was supposed to sign copies of her book, “Never Can Say Goodbye.”
The money from the event at the Beverly Hilton is supposed to go to Jackson Family Foundation even though it doesn’t exist and has no registration for a 501 c3 designation. Insiders say the foundation organizers may try and use an existing foundation and merge with them, by passing regular registration.
Sources say tables were full and people are standing at the BHH ballroom. Tickets ranged from $105 to $500 VIP seats.

Michael Jackson’s family absent from memorial service

By Roger Friedman Michael Jackson had a private memorial service today at Forest Lawn Glendale.
His parents didn’t show, neither did his kids. Sister LaToya was absent, according to guests, as well as brothers Marlon and Jackie. Sister Rebbie was also not seen. La Toya was in town. She even made money from a bunch of pr appearances this week connected to the anniversary.
Jermaine, Randy, Tito and Janet were there, however. So was former manager and publicist Raymone Bain. There were 60 guests in all, and no celebrities, not even Macaulay Culkin.

Family leaves town as Michael Jackson tribute nears

By Roger Friedman Michael Jackson’s immediate family will not be around this week for all the tributes that are about to take place.
As preparations occur at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for Saturday’s Jackson Family Foundation event, fans may be disappointed not to see the main players: Katherine Jackson and her grand kids.
I am told that Katherine has already left the L.A. area has headed to Michael’s birthplace in Gary, Indiana.
And Michael’s kids–Prince, Paris, and Blanket–will also be far removed from the circus planned across the street from their home in Encino, California. There was a plan to take them to London. They may also be somewhere else. But they’re not in California, trust me.

Christina Aguilera to celebrate Michael Jackson with tribute Michael Jackson’s death seems like just yesterday, but this Friday will mark the one year anniversary of the tragic news. In order to celebrate the life of The King of Pop and pay tribute to his family, many celebrities will be giving performances during “The Early Show’s” hour-long broadcast tribute.
Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, LL Cool J, Smokey Robinson, and James Morrison will be part of the “The King of Pop: One Year Later” special that will debut on CBS News. Aguilera told US Magazine, “Music wouldn’t be what it is without someone like Michael Jackson. I remember going to my high school talent show singing ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ and being a huge fan of his album Bad. I know all my dancers wouldn’t be behind me dancing if it weren’t for that.”
Anthony added, “A Michael Jackson comes around literally once in a lifetime. They break the mold and I think there’re people who just sacrifice their life, their personal life all for the arts. That’s what Michael did; he sacrificed his life for the arts.”
Make sure to tune into this memorable tribute.

Howard Mann has masters to 273 unreleased Jackson tracks

By Roger Friedman Howard Mann, the Toronto entrepreneur who bought a warehouse full of Jackson family paraphernalia, has a surprise for Michael Jackson fans and the singer’s estate.
He has the masters to 273 unreleased Jackson tracks. Some are Michael alone, some are duets with superstars like Tina Turner, and some are with the Jackson family.
A good chunk of them come from the 1975 CBS variety series featuring the whole family.
According to Mann, who seems to know his stuff, the Jacksons were between the end of their Motown contract that summer and the beginning of one with Epic Records.
“The recordings belonged to the Jacksons. I bought them with the contents of the warehouse,” Mann says.
Mann feels the recordings therefore do not belong to the Jackson estate, and he can release them any way he sees fit.

Michael Jackson’s anniversary bringing out the vultures

By Roger Friedman The vultures around Michael Jackson have circled June 25th–the first anniversary of his death– for their first attacks.
That’s the day Ian Halperin, sleazy tabloid muckracker, airs his “Gone Too Soon” film on the TV Guide Network. Halperin has already feasted on Michael Jackson’s remains with a book last year. Now he comes with an editorial film in which he interviews the D list from the Jackson outer circle about their knowledge of Jackson’s life. It will be interesting to see how he handles not having Jackson’ s music in his film, let alone the people who really knew him. Expect much heavy weighing in from the illustrious Tohme R. Tohme.
Even better: June 25th is also launch date for a, ahem, book by Leonard Rowe, erstwhile concert promoter. Rowe was in cahoots with Joseph Jackson before Michael died to try and wrest control of the London “This Is It” concerts from AEG Live. Rowe and Jackson actually called this reporter a few weeks prior to Michael’s passing, thinking they could enlist my help in this effort. I essentially hung up on them. For a short time, Rowe wormed his way into Michael’s good graces before he was fired. Yes, Rowe was fired in writing by Michael Jackson. Now he wants to sell his side of the story.

Janet Jackson remembers Gary Coleman Earlier today we reported the tragic news that childhood star Gary Coleman had passed away after being cut off life support. The 42-year old was put into ICU earlier this week after suffering a brain hemorrhage.
Singer Janet Jackson has come forward to remember her former “Diff’rent Strokes” costar. She told E! Online, “I’m at a loss for words upon learning of Gary Coleman’s passing. I want to remember him as the fun, playful, adorable and affectionate man he was. He has left a lasting legacy. I know he is finally at peace.”
It’s safe to say that he’s touched many people’s hearts over the years despite his health struggles.
