Pauly D featured on the ‘Jersey Shore Soundtrack’

HollywoodNews.com: MTV and Universal Republic Records dropped this summer’s sonic blockbuster, the “Jersey Shore Soundtrack,” today, July 20th 2010. It’s the only place you can hear today’s hottest artists—Lil Jon, LMFAO, and Pitbull—in one continuous mix. The brand new collection of sizzling dance and pop tracks are inspired by Snooki, The Situation, Pauly D and the rest of the gang. Even if you don’t live in Jersey, you can rock to this.
Rather than simply slapping together a bunch of modern hits, Universal Republic enlisted the talents of noted producer, DJ, and remixer Jason Nevins to ensure that the “Jersey Shore Soundtrack” would play as one non-stop mix. This one-of-a-kind set of bouncin’ and bangin’ tracks definitely evokes some of the show’s most memorable moments “in the club.” “Jersey Shore’s” very own Pauly D even offered up his “Beat Dat Beat (It’s Time To)” for the propulsive playlist. Bumping continuously, there’s never a dull moment, and this mix will light up your beach party or night on the town.
Pauly D’s song isn’t the only exclusive included though. The soundtrack also features previously unreleased remixes from dance and pop trend-setters such as Paul Oakenfold (“Pump It Up”), Kid Sister Ft. Nina Sky (“Look Out Weekend”), Girlicious (“Drank”), Jersey Shore featured artist- Midi Mafia (“Last Call”) and Tiesto vs. Diplo (“Come On”). With Nevins’ deft remix alchemy, all of the songs fit snugly together for maximum audio ecstasy.
“I Like It,” the “Jersey Shore Soundtrack’s” first single from Enrique Iglesias featuring Pitbull, immediately infiltrated clubs and beaches nationwide, becoming one of the summer’s biggest “fist-pumpers”, garnering spins on over 100 radio stations and hitting both the U.S. and U.K.’s Top 10 charts.
The “Jersey Shore Soundtrack” also features a combination of number one singles (Lil Jon featuring 3OH!3’s “Hey,” David Guetta featuring Fergie’s “Getting’ Over You”) and, of course, there’s LMFAO’s “Get Crazy,” the show’s raucous theme song whose lyrics “Get crazy/Get wild/Let’s party/Get loud” always let viewers know what’s in store every installment.
The “Jersey Shore” Complete Season One Uncensored” DVD also hit stores this week.

Electric Daisy Carnival is more than just a mere “rave”

By Rudy Klapper
HollywoodNews.com: Over 80 artists and DJs. Five stages running the gamut from house to dubstep to trance and more. 185,000+ people attending and dancing until 2 a.m. over two days. More Ecstasy pills than the population of Los Angeles. Calling the annual L.A. Electric Daisy Carnival a mere “rave” is an insult to something that has to be considered one of the largest music events in the world, not to mention an intense kaleidoscope of sounds and visuals that require far more work and setup than your average festival show. Oh, and don’t forget the varied array of carnival rides, from your standard ferris wheel and fun house to spinning tops and massive swings (best ridden sober). With such a breadth of artists and experiences to be sampled it’s practically impossible to catalogue every highlight of the weekend, and the fact that the Coliseum grounds where the event was held was nearly impossible to traverse effectively past sundown made it difficult to see everyone I wanted, but those I did rarely disappointed.
Opening at 2 in the afternoon every day, the festival was already jam packed by the time I arrived (usually around 4-ish), and like Coachella before it, EDC’s popularity has skyrocketed over the past couple of years. The main stage (the Coliseum stadium including the floor) was half empty during the Friday headliner in 2009; this year they closed off floor access before sunset, relegating latecomers to the stands hundreds of feet above the floor or the smaller stages outside the stadium. I started off Friday at the Circuit Grounds, a converted parking lot that was the second-largest of the stages, to see Dutch DJ Afrojack, who kicked things off with a tribal electro house mix that made me realize just what kind of damage I was going to be doing to my ears over the next 48 hours. The sound systems at EDC don’t fuck around – when the bass drops, you can actually feel it rattling around in your bones. The seizure-inducing light shows at each stage were meticulously prepared as well, something YouTube doesn’t even begin to fully describe.
My group then headed to the main stage, which is when full is one of the most amazing concert experiences I have ever been to – thousands and thousands of people all crammed into the bowl of the Coliseum stadium, filling the field and rising up […]

MTV and Universal to release “Jersey Shore” Soundtrack

The cast of “Jersey Shore” have become the new kids to take over where “The Hills” phenomenon died. The 7 characters have been through fights, tanning salons, and come with lots of abs to look at (who can complain). Not only did the cast get a huge pay raise of $10,000 an episode for season 2, but they have become the wildest bunch to hit television, each with their own unique nicknames. While the cast is currently filming season 2, here’s some “Jersey Shore” news that is sure to get fans excited.
MTV and Universal Republic Records will release a compilation cd for the show that features many of the songs that have accompanied the episodes, reports MTV. The new album sounds to be along the lines of the “O.C”. and “One Tree Hill” soundtracks that have proven to be popular among fans of the shows. They also report that the first single will be “I Like It” by Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull, which will release on May 25 on iTunes. In addition the album will feature songs by Lil Jon, LMFAO, Talo Cruz, and Akon among others.
The second season of “Jersey Shore” premieres on July 29th at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
