Hollywoodnews.com: For one Sunday afternoon, Tiger Woods was back where he hasn’t been in far too long.
Once considered the world’s best golfer, Woods has been mired in a devastating slump. After health problems (and personal, off-the-course struggles) damaged his game, Woods endured crucial rehabilitation in a fight to get back into the winner’s circle. It finally happened Sunday afternoon, as Tiger topped fellow golfer Zach Johnson by one stroke at the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, California.
It was Woods’ first win in two years.
Could this be the beginning of a stellar comeback?
“In recent weeks, though, Woods’ play and confidence steadily had improved, and now he has a win to validate the effort,” writes Jim Peltz of the Los Angeles Times.
Reuters’ Mark Lamport-Stokes agrees, stating, “While some will argue that Tiger Woods’ long-awaited return to the winner’s circle on Sunday came in an unofficial 18-man event with the odds stacked in his favor, there is no doubt the former world No. 1 is back to form. In throwing off much of the old for the new, it would now seem that the old Tiger is back — or at least a new and perhaps an improved version.”

Tiger Woods has been off the radar for a few days now, which is an eternity for him considering just a few weeks ago he was in the headlines with a new story every few hours. He returned to golf quickly after returning from sex addiction rehab in Arizona where he finished fourth place at the Masters. It appeared that Tiger hadn’t lost too much skill while away from the sport, as he lined up several other tournaments following the Masters.
Now it looks like he’s having more trouble than we thought. He has just pulled out of the Players Championship due to “been playing with a bad neck for about a month,” reports NY Post. He withdrew 10 shots in after holding at 45th place, two hours before the leaders were supposed to tee off. After leaving the fitness trailer he said, “I’ve been playing through it. I can’t play through it anymore. I might have a bulging disk.”
It looks like Tiger has a lot of recovery ahead of him not only with his marriage, but in golf as well.
Tiger Woods has announced that he will be returning to golf very soon. After months of being the center of the media attention following the news of his many affairs, he is going to return to the media, but in hopes of a brighter light. According to AP, he will be competing in the Masters Tournament this year which takes place in Augusta, Georgia and runs from April 5-11.
This will be Woods’ first appearance in a gold tournament since the incident with his personal life flared up over Thanksgiving weekend.
