Ray J implies Kim Kardashian cheated on husband with him

HollywoodNews.com: It sounds like Ray J may have been the reason Kim Kardashian’s first marriage to music producer Damon Thomas didn’t work out as he is currently implying the two had an affair.
In his new book, ‘Death of a Cheating Man: What Every Woman Must Know About Men Who Stray,’ Ray J speaks about a woman he calls “KK” and how she pursued him while she was married, states the New York Post.
“We’d known each other for a while before we dated and there was a mutual attraction, but she was married … She let me know she wanted to get with me. She left her husband for me as soon as we started having sex and things between us got intense really fast. After that, I felt obligated to be with her,” Ray J writes about the mystery woman.
He also writes in the book that the two cheated on each other during their relationship until it came to an end.

Fox Searchlight Pictures Buys “The Surrogate”

HollywoodNews.com: Fox Searchlight Pictures Presidents Nancy Utley and Stephen Gilula announced today that the company has acquired worldwide rights to the inspirational true story THE SURROGATE. Directed and written by Ben Lewin, THE SURROGATE stars John Hawkes as Mark O’Brien, Helen Hunt as Cheryl Cohen Greene and William H. Macy as Father Brendan. The film was produced by Judi Levine of Suchmuch Films and Stephen Nemeth of Rhino Films and is scheduled to be released in 2012.
?Ben Lewin has created a touching, uplifting look at one man?s desire to experience life to the fullest. The brave and indelible performances by John Hawkes, Helen Hunt and William H. Macy left us floored,? said Gilula and Utley.
?We’re very happy to have found a home at Fox Searchlight for this film,? said director Ben Lewin. ?We have worked hard to evoke the spirit of Mark O’Brien and his writing, and feel that the Searchlight team can help bring his unique and touching story to as wide of an audience as possible.?
?We look forward to working with Searchlight to broaden the conversation of topics that were once considered taboo and that represent what’s going on in society in a much more open way,? said Levine.
?Their work on films as diverse as ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ show their resources and passion can translate emotionally compelling material to a mainstream audience,? added producer Nemeth.
Based on the poignantly optimistic autobiographical writings of California?based journalist and poet Mark O?Brien, THE SURROGATE tells the story of a man confined to an iron lung who is determined – at age 38 – to lose his virginity. With the help of his therapists and the guidance of his priest, he sets out to make his dream a reality.
The deal was brokered by Fox Searchlight?s Executive Vice President of Worldwide Acquisitions Tony Safford, Senior Vice President of Business Affairs Megan O?Brien and Vice President of Acquisitions & Co-Productions Ray Strache with CAA and attorney Craig Emanuel on behalf of the filmmakers.
Fox Searchlight Pictures is a specialty film company that both finances and acquires motion pictures. It has its own marketing and distribution operations, and its films are distributed internationally by Twentieth Century Fox. Fox Searchlight Pictures is a unit of Fox Filmed Entertainment, a unit of Fox Entertainment Group.

Oscars: “Shame” launches official Web site – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
hollywoodnews.com: An Oscar campaign I’m anxious to track this season is the one Fox Searchlight plans to mount on behalf of Steve McQueen’s “Shame.” Because the film is Oscar-worthy on virtually every level – from direction and composition to performance. Yet the frank treatment of a delicate subject matter (sex) could make some squeamish. Let’s just hope that doesn’t count against it in the ongoing race.
The studio reveals an interactive site this morning that introduces audiences to McQueen’s style. Harry Escott’s haunting score underlies the site, which allows you to explore information on Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan, both mesmerizing playing a sex addict and his sister, who’s either in town to help him or to seek assistance for her own issues.
Searchlight shouldn’t have to work so hard to campaign for “Shame.” Screen it, and let the film’s powerful messages speak for themselves, right? Only, the Academy doesn’t have a long history of embracing tough, honest discussions of sexuality. The film’s NC-17 rating also creates obstacles that Searchlight will have to work around.
The film opens in limited release on Dec. 2, and will expand throughout the season. Without a legitimate frontrunner stomping through the Oscar race – taking out the competition – this seems like the year where awards love can be spread to multiple pictures. If there’s justice, “Shame” will be in the game.
