Gwen Stefani pretty much over her solo career

HollywoodNews.com: While many may have loved Gwen Stefani as a solo artist, it seems that it is pretty much coming to an end.
The singer recently revealed that she probably won’t move forward with her solo career, states Entertainment Weekly. “That was a moment in time. It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life,” Stefani said about her solo endeavors.
Considering it has been five years since she released a solo album, many had probably already seen this coming.

No Doubt back in love with each other, new album tightens bond

HollywoodNews.com: The band No Doubt is busier than ever.
After embarking on a successful reunion tour last year, the ska-influenced ‘90s group jumped back into the recording studio to jam out a new album. So much for those break-up rumors.
The band’s bassist and songwriter Tony Kanal exclaimed his joy over the band’s creative process in an interview with Billboard.
“I swear, we’re having more fun than we’ve ever had writing a record before,” he said.
Since the band emerged in 1992, they churned out five albums. The current CD they’re working on will be their first since 2001’s “Rock Steady.”
“I think [because] it’s been a while, but also because we’re older… the fact that we’re still doing it together after 24 years – you know, working on music – I think we really appreciate that,” said Kanal who also promised another tour to support the record.
“I think it’ll be even bigger, and when I say bigger, I mean more shows and around the world,” added the bassist.

Gwen Stefani shells out $15,000 for her four-year old’s birthday party

Hollywoodnews.com: Gwen Stefani has no reason to sing “If I Were a Rich Girl” – because she already is. The No Doubt lead singer spent $15,000 to say “Happy Birthday” to her son Kingston Rossdale as he clocked the grand old age of four.
Rossdale’s celebration was held at his L.A. home on May 29.
US Magazine reports that guests included Kate Beckinsale and David and Victoria Beckham. The Menu? Burgers, hot dogs, tacos, quesadillas, french fries and chicken fingers and birthday cake (of course). There was also a cotton candy machine and a lemonade stand on hand.
Kids reveled in the standard bouncy castle, face-painting. Also roaming around the premises were three birds, a face painter, a balloon artist and super hero characters.
Last year, Stefani cried to Elle magazine about Kingston’s terrible twos.
“Kingston’s whole thing is, ‘I need, I need.’ He is insane right now. We’re just hoping for the best and that he’s not going to turn out to be a freak.”

Gwen Stefani loves London

Hollywoodnews.com: If Orange County, CA native Gwen Stefani, 40, had to choose the best place to hang her hat, it would be London over Los Angeles.
Currently, the No Doubt singer splits her time between the two cities with hubby Gavin Rossdale and their two children, Kingston, four, and 20-month-old Zuma. London wins because – it’s more laid back. Take that Venice Beach surfers.
“I miss my family when I’m in England,” overhears Showbiz Spy. “And when I’m in Los Angeles, I miss the role I have when I’m in London. Usually I’m not working in London, so Gavin spoils me and I get to be really dependent.
“I don’t drive when I’m there and I like that. It’s a different lifestyle to be able to walk to the little village and get milk.
“I take Kingston to the gym with me, with no nanny or assistant and that would be very rare in Los Angeles — that I could actually go somewhere on my own. Things can get out of hand with the paparazzi, so I don’t feel safe.”

No Doubt to auction off memorabilia for charity

HollywoodNews.com: No Doubt is busy recording their new album, but in the meantime they are taking some time to clean out their closets and help a few good causes at the same time.
The band will be putting some costumes and vintage memorabilia on an online auction. Some of the items include instruments, out of print vinyl, as well as a tuxedo from drummer Adrian Young.
Lead singer Gwen Stefani said, “The tour last summer was so amazing, it was exactly what we needed to inspire the new record. Now that we’re in the studio we wanted do something special for the fans who did so much for us. It’ll be really fun to share the costumes – they’re wicked. A lot of the stuff was really hard to part with, but the money we’ll be able to raise, together with the fans, will be worth it. These charities need us, badly. It means a lot to us as a band to be able to support all the hard work they do.”
Guitarist Tom Dumont added, “This auction is a really big deal to me personally, because I’m letting go of two really prized, iconic guitars in the hopes of raising as much money as possible for charity. In my history with No Doubt, the guitars I played in our music videos are the rarest and most valuable things I own. Please contact your richest friend’s Dad and tell him please go BIG on these auction items!”
The auction will take place from June 1-11 and 100% of proceeds will be shared between the following four charities:
Animal Acres – a paradise for farmed animals and the people who love them
charity: water – a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
The ALS Association – encourages scientific research to find a cure for ALS (also known as “Lou Gehrig’s disease”)
Children’s Hospital of Orange County – a regional pediatric health care hospital which provides preventive medical care, education, and state-of-the-art pediatric biomedical research.
