Kevin Spacey on Hickenlooper: ‘He deserves for audiences to see his work’

HollywoodNews.com: In a statement, “Casino Jack” headliner Kevin Spacey paid tribute to the film’s recently deceased director George Hickenlooper.
In “Casino Jack,” Spacey plays incarcerated lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Hickenlooper passed away at the age of 47 over the weekend.
“I can’t believe he’s gone because George was so alive, bubbling with energy, drive, commitment, an open heart and a brilliant sense of humor,” Spacey said. “He was one of a kind.
“My experience working with him was nothing short of fantastic: from our prison visit with Jack Abramoff, to script meetings, pre-production discussions and finally our first day of shooting. From that day until our last event premiering Casino Jack in Toronto last month, he was a joy to be around.
“I’m shocked and can’t really get it around my head that I won’t be spending the next three months in his company. That ‘Casino Jack’ turns out to be his last; the pride I feel in it – in his direction, his ideas and the final results – has soared.
“He deserves for audiences to see it and discover his work. And then go out and see what he did before, cause he will deservedly find a whole new audience. And nothing would make George happier than for people to see his work.”
Hickenlooper’s directing credits include Sienna Miller’s Edie Sedgwick biopic “Factory Girl.” “Casino Jack” is currently slated for release by ATO Pictures on December 17.

Robert Pattinson, Emma Watson voted best dressed Brits

HollywoodNews.com: Robert Pattinson and Emma Watson aren’t only in two of the most popular and successful film franchises, but they are apparently some pretty sharp dressers as well.
According to a Glamour UK poll, the two stars were voted as the best dressed Brits as decided by 25,000 people, states PopEater.
Watson, as the face of Burberry, beat out other high-profile women in fashion such as Victoria Beckham, Sienna Miller and Kate Moss. Pattinson took down Victoria’s husband David Beckham and Sienna’s man Jude Law to win his title.
Would you have chosen these two as best dressed?

Angelina Jolie too busy to fall into ‘Gravity’

HollywoodNews.com: Forget about the talent search for Lisbeth Salander in the U.S. remake of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” – that’s so two weeks ago.
The hot new femme role? Playing the astronaut in Alfonso’s Cuaron’s sci-fi film “Gravity” due out in 2012. But despite the number of actresses who are being considered for the role, the biggest one of them all – Angelina Jolie – has no interest in the project. She’s too busy.
Warner Bros. has apparently made overtures to Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman, Naomi Watts, Marion Cotillard, Carey Mulligan, Scarlett Johansson, Sienna Miller, Abbie Cornish, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde, and Blake Lively per Deadline and Collider.
This comes as a surprise since it was first reported Johansson and Lively were in a tug of war for the part.
Collider lists the number of productions that Jolie is attached to:
- She is set to write and direct a love story set during the Bosnian War
- A sequel to “Salt”
- A film about the life of Cleopatra
- A remake of the 2009 British miniseries, “Unforgiven”
- Tim Burton’s take on “Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent”
- Darren Aronofsky’s adaptation of Ron Rash’s novel, “Serena”
The lucky lass who lands the role will get to play opposite Robert Downey Jr., who has a small role.
Warner Bros. is eager to cast the right actress as the project is quite risky and in need of a chick who can draw at the box office. Currently, the film is budgeted at $80 million.
The plot of “Gravity” per Collider: “A female astronaut as she attempts to make her way back to earth after a satellite crash sets off a chain reaction of further crashes.”

Ashton still a Kabbalah follower: confirmed by ‘Twitter’ pic

HollywoodNews.com: Ashton Kutcher reaffirmed his commitment to Kabbalah by wearing its red string bracelet on his left wrist in his latest ‘Twitter’ photo.
Ashton posted the picture from Melbourne, Australia, where he is promoting his new film, Killers.
According to the controversial offshoot of Judaism, the red string custom is meant to bring good fortune and protect against an ‘evil eye’. In the ‘Twitter’ photo, Ashton, also wearing a blue shirt and a bow tie, poses with Killers director, Robert Luketic.
Ashton, 32, married his wife Demi Moore, 47, in a 2005 ceremony blessed by Eitan Yardeni, a rabbi from the Kabbalah Centre in Los Angeles.
Other A-list Kabbalah followers are said to include Charlize Theron, Britney Spears and Sienna Miller.

Jude Law’s ex-wife deletes Twitter to cover up sassy remark on Sienna Miller

HollywoodNews.com: In effort to save face in front of her ex-husband Jude Law and his on-again g.f. Sienna Miller, Sadie Frost has deleted her Twitter account.
It sounds zany and confusing, so permit us to explain.
Turns out Frost, 42, snapped at Miller, 28, on Twitter and than attempted to retract the statement and when that didn’t look good, she just deleted the whole, bloody account.
According to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, Frost returned home to find her daughter Iris, 9, with a new haircut. Frost took to Twitter and posted a comment aimed at Miller: “I think ya should get ya own child and then cut their hair.”
Frost then tried to undo the sassy comment by posting: “The story in paper is rubbish, no-one cut Iris’s hair, she still has her beautiful locks ‘All is cool with them – peace and love.”
And when that didn’t work, Frost turned off her Twitter.
A friend of Frost’s told the Sun that Iris’ haircut really rubbed her rhubarb. “It’s not that the style doesn’t look nice, it does, but that it was done without her permission. I’m sure Sienna was just trying to be nice. But Sadie doesn’t want Sienna playing mother to her kids,” exclaims the source.

Jude Law and Sienna Miller start a public fight>

Hollywoodnews.com: What the heck is going on with all these old flame Hollywood couples whispering that they’re tying the not, then exhibiting behavior that dispels such rumors?
Recently Leonardo DiCaprio was seen getting cozy with a woman who looked like his up and coming fiancé Bar Refaeli, now Jude Law and Sienna Miller are fighting like the good ole days.
Miller and Law were apparently spotted by the U.K.’s Daily Mail fighting like cats and dogs – in public no less!
One onlooker at the private members’ club Shoreditch House in East London exclaimed “They had this blazing row in front of everyone, and Sienna walked out. I couldn’t tell you what the row was about, but Sienna had a huge tantrum.
“It was quite dramatic. As soon as she left, Jude started blatantly chatting up another girl in the club at the bar. She was very pretty and was clearly delighted that this huge movie star was making a move on her.”
“Then, after a while, Sienna came back. You should have seen her face when she saw Jude and this other girl’ says the Daily Mail mole, ‘It was extraordinary. By the time I left, they seemed to have made up.’
Let’s hope so.

Jude Law, Sienna Miller finally hear wedding bells

Hollywoodnews.com:Jude Law, 37, really loves his off again-on again g.f. Sienna Miller, 28.
Unintentionally following the latest craze of major celebs wedding their longtime mates (DiCaprio is rumored to be engaging his longtime Israeli model g.f. Bar Refaeli) Law plans to tie the knot with Miller in Gloucestershire, England this summer.
“They don’t want to jinx things by talking about it, but they have told their nearest and dearest that they would like to get married in the summer,” a source tells the U.K.’s Daily Mail.
Apparently there will be a second ceremony in New York. Miller wants her fashion designer sister Savannah to handle the gown. There’s further talk that the “G.I. Joe” actress wants a bohemian-style marriage.
Law originally engaged Miller in 2006 and called it quits after it was revealed that the “Road to Perdition” actor had a tryst with their nanny.
Law has three children with his first wife Sadie Frost and a love child with U.S. model Samantha Burke.

Mick Jagger Goes Out on a Limb for Girlfriend

By Roger Friedman
Hollywoodnews.com: Last night, Mick Jagger went out on a limb, so to speak, for girlfriend L’Wren Scott.
Jagger made a rare appearance at a rooftop benefit (atop the Scholastic Books building) in Soho to help raise money for Haitians who’ve lost limbs in the January earthquake. Scott is old friends with crusading doctor, David Colbert, who’s a dermatologist to the stars. His group is called NYDG Foundation: Rx Haiti.
And the stars who did show up included Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts. It was hoped that Jude Law and Sienna Miller might materialize, but excuses were made: Jude was on a plane back to England.
And what of Mick, besides graciously digging in for Haiti? He’s on his way to Cannes for the re-release of “Exile on Main Street” and the showing of a new short documentary that stitches together pieces of unseen footage from Rolling Stones tapes including the legendary “Cocksucker Blues.”
Six held-back songs were added to the new “Exile.” Mick told me his favorites are “Plundered My Love” — a “Tumbling Dice” companion– and the bluesy, gospelish “I’m Not Signifying.” The other new old tracks include “Pass the Wine (Sophia Loren),” “Dancing in the Light,” “So Divine (Aladdin Story),” and the sublime “Following the River.”
