Lindsay Lohan reportedly in on the joke for ‘Saturday Night Live’

HollywoodNews.com: Lindsay Lohan is getting ready to host ‘Saturday Night Live,’ and it seems that she is going to go all out in order to be in on the joke this time.
Lindsay is reportedly open to making fun of any of her past problems as ‘SNL’ has definitely been fond of joking about the young actress in the past, states TMZ. It was allegedly Lindsay’s idea for her to host the show as a way to prove that she’s turning things around.
Now, she is apparently going along with everything to make it the best possible show.

Jason Sudeikis wants Robert Pattinson to host SNL; but Pattinson doesn’t think he’s funny

By Kim Palacios
hollywoodnews.com: “We got you, buddy. You’ll be fine. Hold on to me tightly. We’ll take you through the forest of SNL,” said 2011 MTV Movie Awards host Jason Sudeikis to MTV News. His words of encouragement were directed toward Robert Pattinson, one of the most sought-after no-go hosts of Sudeikis’ regular gig, Saturday Night Live.
“I think anybody should host ['SNL'] if it’s something they want to do. Just give it a shot!” Sudeikis told MTV News. “We’re certainly a safe place, a safe haven.”
But Pattinson isn’t convinced he’s funny, as he revealed to a different SNL alum, Jimmy Fallon on the well-loved March 2010 episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. After making a cameo on Fallon’s popular “Robert is Bothered” sketch in which the comedian plays a rather “Cullenized” version of the Brit, Pattinson commented, “Seeing that made me realize why I’m not a comedian.”

Elton John to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ in April

By Greg Hernandez
HollywoodNews.com: Why do I get the feeling there’s going to be a Billy Joel sketch in here somewhere?
It was announced at Elton John’s annual Oscar night bash that the singer and new father will be guest hosting NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ on April 2.
Elton has not appeared on ‘SNL’ since 1982 when he was the musical guest and performed the songs “Empty Garden” and “Ball and Chain.”
So much has happened since then! He married and divorced a woman, he got sober, he met David Furnish, he won a Tony and and an Oscar, he became a daddy and he’s raised millions and millions of dollars for AIDS research through his foundation.
The musical guest on ‘SNL’ will be Elton’s buddy Leon Russell with whom he did an album last year. So looks like we can count on some Elton music in addition to seeing him in some comedy sketches!

Jesse Eisenberg gets “friend-ed” by Mark Zuckerberg on ‘SNL’

HollywoodNews.com: Just as it was rumored, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made an appearance on ‘Saturday Night Live’ as Jesse Eisenberg was hosting.
Eisenberg portrayed Zuckerberg in the hit film ‘The Social Network,’ which Zuckerberg has kept his distance from. As Eisenberg was opening ‘SNL,’ Andy Samberg first came out dressed much like Zuckerberg, but then Zuckerberg decided to show up, states UsMagazine.com.
They all had a little exchange and Eisenberg finally asked Zuckerberg if he had watched the movie. His reply? “It was interesting.”

The Top 10 – Out-Of-Left Field Choices to Host SNL

Hollywoodnews.com: In the wake of Betty White’s strong performance last Saturday, here’s a look at 10 other unusual hosting candidates who could deliver mega-ratings, and get a much-needed PR bounce of their own! Please scroll down.

Betty White wanted on “Dancing with the Stars”

HollywoodNews.com: Betty White has become Hollywood’s hottest actress despite being 88 years old. She just had her cameo on SNL, which boosted their ratings to the highest audience in 18 months. Her fans are surging from everywhere to get her recruited on every show possible and it is working! The latest show that wants her (probably to boost their ratings) is the popular “Dancing with the Stars.”
They want her to be a part of the show next season, but will she be able to keep up with the strenuous workouts and fast paced dance moves? An insider told Popeater that “Not only would she guarantee great ratings, she would also make it easier for a lot of big celebrities — who up to now have been sitting on the fence — to sign on. There is no one bigger or more respected than Betty White.”
While she hasn’t confirmed for the show yet, you can bet that if she does their ratings will sky rocket!

BETTY WHITE ON SNL – “THE DELICIOUS DISH” SKIT

Betty White boosts SNL ratings

By Greg Hernandez
HollywoodNews.com: Enjoyed the hell out of Betty White’s appearance on Saturday Night Live.
It’s been ages since I’ve stayed awake throughout an entire episode but you really didn’t want to miss any of Betty who, at 88-and-a-half-years-young was in most of the sketches. She elevated every scene she was in.
My main quibble was no appearances of her iconic TV characters Sue Ann Nivens and Rose Nyland. It would have been so great to see them drop into some kind of new situation.
Anyway, Betty helped SNL reached its largest TV audience in 18 months during a Mother’s Day show that saw the TV icon star make fun of her age, Facebook, sex and utter the phrase, “Wizard of Ass” – twice!

Betty White shines on “SNL,” but show gets mixed reviews

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: It was the “Saturday Night Live” show fans demanded. But according to critics, it wasn’t the show they deserved.
Betty White, a comedic icon who makes the funniest “SNL” performer seem like a tax accountant by comparison, hosted the late-night sketch show last night thanks to a a fan-fed Facebook campaign to get the 88-year-old actress the gig. And with White came plenty of female guest stars and recurring cast members, from Tina Fey Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Molly Shannon.
What was missing, however, were suitable jokes. The writers force-fed White dirty lines as they poked fun of her age. She did what she could, but the show felt like a missed opportunity.
David Hinckley wrote in the NY DAILY NEWS that White “did nothing to diminish her stature last night” but said there was more at stake for the show, which “has suffered this season from postelection ratings and creative depression.”
USA Today was more harsh, saying Saturday’s “overhyped” show “mostly served to explain why SNL seemed so reluctant to bring White on board. Clearly, they didn’t know what to do with her.”
Fans don’t agree. Most of the comments that were posted on MSNBC’s forum seeking feedabck from White’s hosting gig were positive. Click here to read, and to leave your own “review” of White “SNL” performance.
