Shulman reportedly proposed with an engagement ring designed by Kwiat Heritage, states UsMagazine.com. The two were reportedly just friends before they started up their romance.

Hathaway and Shulman have been dating for a number of years after she split with Raffaello Follieri who was involved in a fraud matter.

Hathaway’s last beau, Raffaello Follieri, was involved in a major fraud matter where he posed a real estate consultant for the Vatican.

HollywoodNews.com: It is starting to sound like this year’s Oscars won’t have Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in attendance all because of Anne Hathaway.

Apparently, the two are planning on skipping this year because of Hathaway’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ skit that made fun of Holmes, states Digital Spy (via Mail On Sunday). Hathaway, who is hosting, apparently insulted Holmes because of this bit so the couple wants nothing to do with her.

The two are reportedly even more hurt because they were allegedly there for her during her split from Raffaello Follieri. Apparently, reps for the couple have stated that it is too early to know if they can attend because of filming schedules.

HollywoodNews.com: Anne Hathaway’s ex-lover Raffaello Follieri will not be released from U.S. prison and returned to his native Italy for the remainder of his sentence.

Follieri’s attorney, Flora Edwards, recently dismissed rumors. Under the federal prisoner-transfer program, foreign prisoners can serve the rest of their sentence abroad, in their country of origin.

The con man, 31, was jailed in December 2008 for four and half years on 14 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering. He swindled as much as $3.6 million from investment funds and real estate firms per Contactmusic.

Hathaway broke up with Follieri in June of that year, before his arrest for the scam.

Follieri won’t be eligible for a return to Italy until May 2012.

HollywoodNews.com: Jewels seized by Federal authorities after the arrest of Ann Hathaway’s ex, Raffaello Follieri, are going up for auction.

Among the goodies Follieri gave Hathaway which are up for grabs: a gold Rolex watch ($25,000) and a silver one ($5,000). Tiffany clocks, a Cartier figurine were among the numerous precious items.

Follieri was busted in 2008 for an investment scheme that involved fake liaisons with the Vatican. He stole more than $2 million from investors and used the money to fuel his lavish lifestyle. Following the incident, that August, Hathaway turned the bling over to the Feds as they prepared for trial. The jewelry was used as evidence.

Per the New York Post, the “Devil Wears Prada” actress was given a chance to bid exclusively on the rings, necklaces and bracelets, however, she declined.

The bidding session, which hasn’t been scheduled, is being held to repay Follieri’s victims, including supermarket magnate and Bill Clinton friend Ron Burkle.

Hathaway’s recent beau, Adam Shulman, also seems to be quick with his hands. Shulman was accused last month of stealing a mural from a Meatpacking District construction site. The contractor decided against filing charges after Shulman returned the piece.

But Hathaway’s got a secret: She loves bad boys. The actress’ latest beau, Adam Shulman walked off with a mural painting by street artist Mr. Brainwash aka Thierry Guetta. The artwork was located at a construction site in the Meatpacking district according to Page Six.

“If he brings me back the art, it’s over,” Ken Hart, president of H&H Builders declared. “But if he doesn’t, I’m going to the police to report it stolen!”

Prior to Shulman, Hathaway dated Italian real estate magnet Raffaello Follieri who had scamed unsuspecting investors into thinking he had lucrative connections to the Vatican. Hathway was named as a beneficiary to the stolen money. Follieri is still doing time.
