EMI links with Vevo

vevoAccording to Wired, EMI has officially partnered with Vevo to take their music presence even further. Vevo is an online music entertainment service powered by Youtube and was originally co-founded by the Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment.

The company will be having a U.S./Canadian launch today in New York and will feature music super stars Bono, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and John Mayer among others from the three labels all in attendance to celebrate the opening.

The new plan is for EMI to create unique content from their labels (Capitol, Virgin, Astralwersk, Blue Note) as well as content from their up and coming indie labels. The aim is for this partnership to create a hulu website catered to the music business.
