Record Labels back to merch sales
With the recent decline in music sales from piracy, record labels are now turning back to the merchandise end to recoup costs. AllAccess.com has reported that EMI Music has announced that they will be buying Loudclothing.com, a music merchandise distributor, after watching Vivendi Universal Music Group expand their Bravado merchandise unit globally.
Their new approach at a 360-degree deal that would include not only developing the artist, but launching full fledged markets for them.
