“Hope for Haiti Now” digital album sets a record


The “Hope for Haiti Now” digital only album that was recorded at the Jan. 22 Haiti telethon put together by George Clooney has become the first digital only album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 list. The album features live performances by Madonna, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Beyonce, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, and Coldplay among others. The album has sold 171,000 copies so far that beat Susan Boyle’s “I Dreamed a Dream” by almost 100,000 sales.

To purchase a copy, visit iTunes. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the album go to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme, and Yele Haiti Foundation.
