IFC acquires “The Killer Inside Me”

IFC has picked up the thriller “The Killer Inside Me,” directed by Michael Winterbottom at Sundance. Deadline.com has reported that they have secured U.S. distribution rights.

The film, which has become one of the most controversial films since its premiere at this year’s Sundance, follows a small town deputy in Texas in the 1950’s as he tries to deal with a handful of ladies amongst his sociopathic tendencies. The film stars Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Simon Baker, and Bill Pullman and was written by John Curran. The film is based off the self-titled book written by pulp writer Jim Thompson.

“The Killer Inside Me” will make a stop at the Berlin Film Festival in February.
