Polanski’s “The Ghost Writer” makes debut in Berlin

Roman Polanski’s film “The Ghost Writer,” based on a novel by Robert Harris, made its debut at the Berlin Film Festival. The film stars Pierce Brosnan as a prime minister, Olivia Williams as his wife, and Ewan McGregor as the ghost writer hired to complete his memoirs.

The movie was almost complete when Polanski was arrested back in September, which brought up the issue of whether the film would ever get released. Polanski wasn’t going to let the situation damper his movie and while he was in prison, he was still at work on the film.
