Drew Barrymore and Wanda Sykes to be honored by GLAAD Awards



Drew Barrymore and Wanda Sykes are set to be honored at the L.A. presentation of the 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards on April 17. Barrymore is set to receive the Vanguard Award which is given to honor professionals who have increased the visibility of the LGBT community. She is being recognized for her work in the film “Everything’s Fine,” as well as for her commitment to marriage equality issues.

Sykes will receive the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which recognizes an openly LGBT professional who has made a significant difference in promoting the community’s equal rights. Sykes has previously campaigned for LGBT issues on her Fox talk show.

The GLAAD Media Awards will take place in New York on March 13 and in San Francisco on June 5.
