“Paranormal Activity 2” to be directed by Kip Williams

The original “Paranormal Activity” that took theaters by storm has announced that they will be doing a sequel and that Tod ‘Kip’ Williams (“The Door in the Floor”) will be directing the sequel. Original director Oren Peli made the announcement today. “Paranormal Activity” was made for $15,000 and raked in a whopping $151 million worldwide.

Peli posted a note on ParanormalActivity.com stating “I have some awesome news for the fans of ‘Paranormal Activity. Director Kip Williams will join us for the next chapter of the story. We are thrilled to have Kip working with us. He is the guy we want at the helm, because he knows exactly what we want to deliver to the fans… and I can’t wait to be a part of what he’s putting together. I don’t want to spoil the story but I promise it’ll surprise you. Stay tuned.”

The sequel is slated to hit theaters on October 22 with the production beginning in May.

I’m bummed to hear that Oren won’t be doing the second one, and I hope this sequel doesn’t suck

I agree, the first one was soooo good, but sequels tend to be duds, especially when they switch up director line-ups, i hope this one doesn’t fall into that category
