Shakira visits Haitian earthquake surivors

Pop star Shakira is doing her part of the community and has recently delved into the recent Haiti earthquake disaster to lend her helping hand. She arrived to the battered country and met up with actor Sean Penn as they visited the Petionville Golf Club, which has become a makeshift camp in Port-au-Prince for the stranded Haitians. Her mission to visit the country is to search for usable land in order to build a new school for the children, many who are homeless and now school less. Shakira’s Barefoot Foundation who is going to be involved, was created to ensure that every child can continue to exercise their right to have a quality education. Their aim is to improve the education and and quality of life for millions of children denied in order to fulfill their potential.
According to AP, she arrived and greeted infants among others living on the makeshift campgrounds that is now home to 50,000 earthquake survivors. In addition, the two stars spoke about the challenges that they have seen and faced since the earthquake hit.
