Bret Michaels undergoes emergency appendectomy

Former front man for the band “Poison,” Bret Michaels, has gained more attention for his VH1 show “Rock of Love.” In this show 20 ladies compete to win him over not only to get a chance to share in his lifestyle, but to also gain a key to his heart. While many of the challenges mirrored his rock-and-roll life, this show became one of those guilty pleasures you didn’t want to admit to loving.

Currently he can be seen on “Celebrity Apprentice,” but last night he was rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Apparently, he was supposed to go on stage in Texas and people around him urged to go to the hospital. All day long he had been having severe stomach pains and AP reports that it was “what was assumed to be a severe case of the flu.”

A statement was released regarding the rock star’s status and it says he is now “doing well and beginning the recovery process.”

We hope he has a speedy recovery.
