MGM to transform L.A. rooftop into drive-in theater for “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” Pack up the car and come join us in celebrating the American tradition of the drive-in theater. To kick off MGM HD’s upcoming “MGM HD Drive-In” summer series, the HD channel is taking over a downtown Los Angeles rooftop and transforming it into a classic movie drive-in on Wednesday, May 12. When the sun goes down, MGM HD invites both NCTA attendees and L.A. locals to enjoy one of the true pleasures of the upcoming summer season with a raffle, free popcorn, drinks, cotton candy and a special screening of the great 1988 horror comedy, Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Guests are invited to catch the cult classic from the comfort of their own cars and in true drive-in theater style. Blankets and lounge chairs will be available for any NCTA attendees without vehicles. Please note that parking and seating for the event will be on a first come, first served basis.

WHAT: Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a 1988 American cult classic. A small town is invaded by aliens from outer space who capture and kill the townspeople, but no one takes them seriously. Why? Because the aliens look like circus clowns, with cotton candy ray-guns, lethal balloon animals and killer shadow puppets! Rated PG-13.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 12th. Gates open at 6:45pm, with the film starting around 7:45pm

WHERE: Macy’s Plaza Garage Rooftop – 700 S Flower St., Los Angeles, CA 90017

WHY: Every Saturday night in August, MGM HD will take viewers back to those fun summer nights spent underneath the starry skies, with the channel’s “MGM HD Drive-In” summer series. Beginning at 10PM EST, each week “MGM HD Drive-In” will present a triple feature movie marathon including an HD World Premiere movie.
