Moviegoers Turn Their Backs on “The Last Airbender” In the wake of opening night protests, M. Night Shyamalan’s much-afflicted fantasy film, The Last Airbender seems to be hitting yet another obstacle: fans and critics seem to hate it!

Initially coming under fire for casting too many non-Asian actors in a film reported to be set in an ‘Asian fantasy world,’ the recently released film is now being dubbed by some as one of the worst movies of the year.

RottenTomatoes slapped an 8% rating on the film, saying that its “flashy” special effects weren’t enough to make up for a bad plot and bad dialogue, and the Los Angeles Times reported that many moviegoers actually walked out of the theater and demanded their money back.

Will the die-hard fans of the original Nickelodeon version have the last laugh on this one? It’s too soon to tell, but if The Last Airbender‘s numbers continue along their current path, there may only be a Razzie waiting for this flick.
