Kevin Bacon to go baddie for ‘X-Men’ Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class is looking to cast Kevin Bacon as the chief villain in the Marvel comic book feature.

Empire Online is tracking a story that the “Footloose” actor is in talks for the role. Bacon’s baddie would face off against James McAvoy’s Professor Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender’s Erik Lensherr and the young mutants they’re cultivating to save the globe.

In recent weeks, there have been a number of casting notices for the installment including Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), Alice Eve (Emma Frost) and Lucas Till (Havoc). More are expected to be announced soon.

“X-Men: First Class” is expected to roll before the cameras in August. Fox is the distributor.
