Mel Gibson case buys time before going to the D.A.’s office A bit of good news for Mel Gibson: the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office isn’t going to rush his case to court.

A source at the D.A.’s office tells TMZ that they will not stoop so low and become “part of the howling mob” and hastily pursue the actor.

TMZ learned earlier that the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department was going to send the case to the D.A.’s office this week, but it doesn’t appear that way now.

Due up to speak with the Sheriff: Oksana Grigorieva’s dentist, her 12-year old son as well as Gibson’s attorneys.

One TMZ source involved in the case exclaims: “Mel isn’t going anywhere. He’s like Tiger Woods. There’s no where he can hide in the world. And she (Oksana) isn’t in any danger. We’re in no rush to make a decision. We’re going to do it right.”
