‘True Blood’ lynches ‘Sopranos’ in DVD sales

HollywoodNews.com: “True Blood” has killed “The Sopranos” – on DVD that is.

Season one of the HBO Alan Ball vampire show has racked up sales of 1.3 million copies sold. At a price of $40 per DVD set, that’s about $52 million.

In terms of unit sales, “True Blood” has outpaced “Sopranos” by 38%. The David Chase mafia series has sold 943,000.

The vampires of Bon Temps have even kicked the fashionista butts of the “Sex and the City” girls who sold 426,000 on DVD for their season one.

Perez Hilton was crunching the numbers.
