Sylvester Stallone says “goodbye” to his Rocky heritage
HollywoodNews.com: ‘The Expendables’ star Sylvester Stallone has admitted it was ‘really hard’ for him to leave Rocky behind in the last flick.
The action star, 64, made a sixth Rocky movie, ‘Rocky Balboa,’ in 2006, sixteen years after he released the fifth film. He admitted that he was sad to leave the movie franchise behind when he wrapped filming.
Stallone said to Britain’s GQ magazine: “It was really hard leaving that character behind. I remember the last day of filming on Rocky Balboa. The sun was going down, we were back in Philadelphia, it was a terrible cold day, then it snowed like crazy and I ran up those famous steps for the last time, covered in sweat, and I thought to myself: ‘Here I am, in the city where I never thought I would emerge from, saying goodbye to the greatest character that anyone could ever dream of.’ And I felt incredibly sad. It was like having a brother die in my arms.”
