Sylvester Stallone competed with Schwarzenegger, Willis “I was very competitive with them, and very jealous if they got a better movie or script than me.”

So says Sylvester Stallone who recently confessed that he would get envious of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis’s success during their ‘80s-‘90s action heydays.

The trio make their first appearance together onscreen this coming Friday in Lionsgate’s “The Expendables.”

However, competition triggered the trio to outpeg each other, resulting in better films.

Speaking to FHM, Stallone says “That’s what made us push so hard, and it’s why Arnold was so great.

“He was far more diligent than me; I was too reckless. He’s very machine-like and I did consider him an enemy. But, looking back, it was a good enemy.”

However, the trio weren’t jealous of each other for long as they wound up becoming business partners together in 1991 for the movie-restaurant chain Planet Hollywood. Though the chain survives, it fell on hard times and Schwarzenegger cut his financial ties in 2000.
