Brad Rowe discusses his debut on ‘General Hospital’

By Greg Hernandez Brad Rowe checks into the ABC soap “General Hospital” this week in the role of Murphy Sinclair, an internationally famous movie star who is involved with supermodel Brenda (Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo).

Brad is not only a wonderful actor who we loved in the classic gay indies “Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss” and “Shelter,” he’s also a straight ally who has been a staunch supporter of LGBT equality.

He posed for the NO H8 campaign and a few weeks back, attended a GLAAD fundraiser in Hancock Park with his wife and son.

That is where we chatted about his “General Hospital” gig.

“I’m the movie star boyfriend of Vanessa Marcil’s character,” Brad began before I interrupted him and asked if he could say her new extended married name of Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo.

“I know [her husband] Carmine Giovinazzo!” Brad said. “He was in Billy’s [“Hollywood Screen Kiss”] with me. He was the trippy guy on the sailboat who was all stoned on acid playing the guitar. It comes full circle. And Vanessa and I are old friends through Brian [Austin] Green, we did a pilot way back when and he directed me in a movie Fish Without a Bicycle, and Vanessa and [Brian] were together back then and we actually both have boys who are the same age.”
