New Casting Rumor for Harry Potter’s Tom Felton

By Hanako M. Ricks There are new casting rumors coming out of Hollywood for Harry Potter star Tom Felton, who is reportedly in negotiations to appear in the film From the Rough, which has already cast actors Ving Rhames (Surrogates), Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), and Henry Simmons (“NYPD Blue”).

From the Rough is the story of a women’s swim team coach (Cassandra Turner, played by Henson), who gets an opportunity to build a men’s golf team for her university. The story is inspired by the real-life story of Dr. Catana Sparks, the gold coach at Tennessee State University who was the first female head coach of an NCAA Divison I men’s team.

Felton will play a British golf-hustler named Edward, who is recruited by Henson’s character for the team. The film is currently in the pre-production stage, with filming due to begin in New Orleans in October.

Felton is staying pretty busy post-Potter; he recently began filming for the Planet of the Apes prequel Rise of the Apes, his horror film 13 Hours will be screened at the UK Frightfest later this month, and he is also rumored to be starring in the WWII film Grace & Danger, but this information has not yet been confirmed.
