Carrie Underwood’s battle with panic attacks

By Molly Sullivan Before hitting it big and at the beginning of her career, Carrie Underwood struggled to deal with her panic attacks that often occurred when she was placed in crowded areas with little personal space.

The recently married singer revealed that the worst time for her panic attacks was during Christmas shopping trips, reports People. She figured out that the problem was being in close proximity to others and would often find herself using treadmills that were isolated and bathroom stalls that weren’t near other ones.

However, once she became famous on American Idol, Underwood found that she had to deal with the problem. Fans would want to get close as they feel like they know her, which she appreciates, but she had to understand that it was fine to “allow people into [her] space.”
