Wyclef Jean rejected by Haiti in attempted presidential run

By Molly Sullivan

HollywoodNews.com: After declaring his intent to run for president of Haiti, Wyclef Jean can put that dream on hold as he has not been approved as a candidate due to various legal requirements that he did not meet.

One of the reasons for the rejection of Wyclef’s presidential is that he currently lives in New Jersey, not Haiti, states Hollyscoop. There are reportedly a number of other reasons, but an official simply commented that he was not on the final list of approved candidates.

Wyclef’s attempt at a presidential run has been controversial for some time as Sean Penn attacked him, claiming that when Haiti needed help, Wyclef was of none. Wyclef has also allegedly been receiving death threats since the announcement of his intent to run.
